k100 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) After the untimely demise of my California Hauler (which took a dive off the work bench) , I decided to dig out the International 4300 I started awhile ago . I was going to build it as a day cab but decided to put the sleeper on it . The frame looked too short to me so I added about 1 1/4 to the frame , I used the air ride suspension from an old F-4270 that I had laying around , I plumed the air line the motor is also plumed . I also modified the sun visor , I didn't like the way it hung past the cab. Edited January 25, 2015 by k100

olsbooks Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 As a teen, this was always one of my favorite kits. This is looking really good. Peace
fantacmet Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Looking good. I'm building one of these too as a logging truck. Same Red frame too. If you do a yellow cab we'll definately have to post side by side photo's of them up here somewhere.
k100 Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 Thanks for the all comments , Im not sure what color i'm going with yet .
Tesla Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Looks good and the engine plumbing is real nice.
k100 Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Just a little update , I drill out the holes in the steps on the fuel tanks , and made new mud flap hangers . Added new tires that I got from Double Take Replicas.
olsbooks Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 How in the world did you drill all these holes and get the spacing so good?
Truck parts Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Great start !!!!!!!!!!!! I will be following as you go.
k100 Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Thanks for the comments ,I cut the steps off first then on the steps there are round raised edges I used those for guided . I drill all by hand because my Dremel die on me ,
fantacmet Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I let my tanks soak in bleach for a week. Chrome is STILL there.
cargostar Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I offer a more correct visor if you are interested.
kilrathy10 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Great job on this one, so far....I'm diggin' the stretch, as well..... And oh, yeah......Easy Off takes chrome off almost immediately......Put it in a sealed container, and come back in about 10 minutes....Rinse it off and use an old tooth brush to get to stubborn areas and you'll be stunned.....
k100 Posted January 25, 2015 Author Posted January 25, 2015 Just a little update , got the rear wheels & tires mounted also got the air bags painted . I got a new visor from Models by Dave , it looks a lot better . Thanks Dave
