Bennyg Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Came across this: http://www.airfix.com/news/airfix-2015-ipms-scale-modelworld-announcement/ Maybe we will get some cars from this technology. Airfix is doing 3 more quickbuild cars, Bugatti Veyron, McLaren P1 and old school VW beetle. http://www.airfix.com/shop/new-for-2015/quick-build.html Cheers.
LDO Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) Veyron and McLaren sound cool. Box scale...not so cool. Edited January 5, 2015 by LDO
DrGlueblob Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I have a few 1/32 Airfix Beetles from maybe 15 years ago. I bet that's the scale the upcoming one is.
Matt Bacon Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I think they're pretty good. And although they don't state a scale, it's pretty clear that the Aventador is 1/24; It took my son (an 18 year old Lego expert) about 20 minutes to build and sticker. It went together pretty straightforwardly, and as you can see, compares pretty well shape and detail wise with the Aoshima model that I have on my shelf. If you want a 1/24 McLaren P1 on your shelf in 2015, this may be the best way to get it! bestest, M.
Bennyg Posted January 5, 2015 Author Posted January 5, 2015 I've got the aventador coming already. Really looking forward to the lidar technology being used for hopefully 1/24 full detail car kits. Cheers. Ben
