I believe you have built this Trabbie with more care and quality control than any 1:1 made!  :D

Well this has been on the bench for just over a year now, don't think they took that long to build a real one though, having health problems, family bereavement and loosing my Mojo didn't help matters

Windows polished ready to be masked so the rubber seal can be airbrushed, before doing any masking and airbrushing, I always do a test fit first, also fitted the little radio aerial, which had been airbrushed in Alclad and the base hand brushed in flat black

Getting closer to being done!!   -Great workmanship!!

Yes, it should be finished in the week, not a great deal to do on it now, did a little work in the hobby room this morning, masked up all the window glass, and airbrushed vht Matt black, I really like this paint as it airbrushed really nice and dried a real good black that replicates the rubber seal better than anything else I've tried over the years, another thing I always were when handling the clear parts after they have been polished is some white cotton gloves, luckily I still have a few pairs left over from my darkroom days, they stop any grease and finger prints getting on the clear parts, the front & rear screens have now been fitted, using a few small drops of clear 5 minute epoxy

Getting the Windows fitted, this is the only part of a build that gives me a few headaches, you can have the best paint finish, but get the glass wrong, with scratches or glue marks and it sticks out like a carrot in an omelet ...

I use latex gloves when building. aren't the cotton gloves slippery?

I use latex gloves when I'm mixing up epoxy resins, but these cotton gloves are a lot thicker than the cheaper cotton gloves you can buy, and no, there not slippery at all, no more slippery than bare hands anyway

Amazing Job Geoff, very nice, crisp and clean model.... I had the pleasure of working on a 1:1 on of these a few years back, very interesting cars.

Just the side door windows to have there rubber seal at the bottom of the window to be airbrushed, which I've done this morning, just waiting for those to dry and they'll be fitted later as well as the two door mirrors, and this one will finally be finished.

The mirror faces have been replicated using chrome BMF, much better than the silver decals they include for this purpose

Thanks, this one has been on and off the bench for the last 12 months, but I've really enjoyed the build

what do you use ..out of curiousity ..to glue the glass in then ?

To apply it I use a wooden cocktail stick that I have filed the tip even finer, a small drop in the corners is enough to hold the windows in place, and once dry, it's perfectly clear, small items such as headlamps I use Tamiya X-22 clear acrylic
