Only Lindberg made a '53.

One of their best kits though, I've never heard any complaints about it and have seen some nice builds with it...

Other than promotional models made back in 1953, Lindberg's two '53 Ford Crestline kits are the only ones done in 1/25 scale. Thse are NOT the Lindberg kits of old--they are right up there with the rest of the bunch, frankly. There have been lots of beautiful builds of this kit series since they were introduced.

If you haven't checked out the Lindberg '53 Ford, you need to! As far as I'm concerned, it ranks right up there as one of the best in the past 20 years. Steve

In my opinion, the Lindberg '53 Ford (cars) are right up there with Moebius kits and the best of the recent Revell offerings. I have several on the shelves, and sometimes I just look at them and marvel at how well engineered they are, how well they fit together, and how good most of the parts look. Frankly, I've been waiting to build one until my skills get a bit better.

The red '53 by Cruz must have utilized some PE parts. That was the only thing I didn't like about this kit was the lack of molded in badging for items like the hood crest & V-8 emblem on the front quarters in favor of decals. I hate those decals for scripts & badges! Steve

The "V8" badges on the front fenders are molded in- I had to sand them off in order to use the PE ones

That's funny, I know for a fact that the ones on my kit were never there. I would have never sanded them off. I had to use the decals. At the time there were probably no PE parts available. Built mine probably 12-13 years ago. Could there have been alterations to the tooling later on? Steve

I just checked my own kits, a hardtop with the black car on the box and the pace car convertible, and they both have the V8 emblem molded on the fenders. Neither has the crest on the hood, however.
