cobraman Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 If you followed the build you know this was purchased as a incomplete started project model. I wanted to try and save it. Thanks to MsDano85gt for supplying me with the missing window glass. I did the best I could with what I had to work with. The engine I took from one of the Thunderbolt kits. Wheels I took from the 37 Ford kit. Had to modify the chassis a bit for the bigger engine. I sanded off the shallow molded taillights and used decals from the parts box instead. ( not real happy with results ) Also sanded off the molded in louvers on the rear pan and drilled holes for aluminum tubing as exhaust pipes. Drilled the dash and used gauge decals and then coated them with Krystal Klear. Used a round headed pin as a shifter. I still need to touch up somethings a but but I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. Now back to finishing the 62 Vette.
atomicholiday Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Really cool build. I had one of these when I was a kid. Nice trip down memory lane. I don't know why, but I really dig Mustang II's
Porscheman Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Beautiful Ray!!! You know how I feel about Mustang II's.
cobraman Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 I have a soft spot for Mustang ll's since I bought 2 new ones. Had a 74 Mach 1 ( yes 6 cyl ) and a 78 King Cobra ( low hp 302 ).
Ford guy Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Nice build Ray. Great looking Mustang. I understand it's a Mustang too. I've always liked the Mustangs from '74-'78. Very cool.
slusher Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Beautiful model Ray. Great color and work....
MsDano85gt Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 awsome that aluminum exhaust tubing is a real nice touch Ray this may motivate me to finish at least one of mine!! or at least a foxbody project glad the glass arrived safely good work look forward to another build
cobraman Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 Thanks guys. It's kind of fun working on something without instructions and missing parts and trying to build something out of it.
