crispy Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 The planets aligned just right and the paint gods smiled upon me. This has to be my best paint job to date. When their isn't any snow and it's warmer I'll take some outside shots. I have stuck to my traditional non-red Ferrari's status. This is a Fujimi 575M painted with Cobra Colors Blu Nart Metallic. Clear is Cobra Colors Ultra Gloss coat. Car was rubbed out for most of yesterday. I'm still undecided about adding the Scuderia shields. Interior is a mix of Tamiya paints and Testors tan flocked spray with tan flocking. Crazy Modeler accents throughout as well as Acustion P.E.. The brakes, foot pedals, rear tray belts and interior pocket net. The rest of course is built straight from the box. I absolutely love these Fujimi kits now. Anyway, onto the pictures: More pictures of my Ferrari 575M can be found at Fotki. Chris
ismaelg Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Beautiful build! Love the color combo! I have that kit waiting its turn on the bench.... Thanks,
Raul_Perez Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Very nice, Chris!! The color combination looks great!! It's been a long time since I built a Ferrari myself, so I bought the Tamiya FXX with the PE kit yesterday while I was at the LHS. I'm going to start on it later this week once I finish a couple of other things I'm working on. Keep up the good work and the posts,
MrObsessive Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Super Gorgeous Chris! I like this color better than Ferrari Red because it's so classy looking for this car!
Randy Kern Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 A red Ferrari? what's that? A beautiful build there, Chris. Another one of my favorite styles. Great detailing, too. The recent Fujimi kits are really nice.
kelson Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Awesome work!like your choice of colors.and i totally agree fujimi kits are becoming one of my favs ,i recently bought the 06'miata kit and i love it.
crispy Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 Thanks guys! Now if I can just keep the dust off of it! I plan on adding the Scuderia shields too. Wouldn't be right without them since I have added them to each Ferrari I've built. Chris
Gray Smith Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 great color and paint application man, I love Blue Ferraris Excellent build overall Gray
crispy Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 Alright, I got a really nice pm from our esteemed editor about the quality of my pictures. He gave me a few pointers and this is the result: I have to say that I am quite amazed. I took one picture like this without the macro on and although it turned out nice it wasn't as sharp as this one. So, now I'll go put the shields on and take a few more pictures. Chris
RatRod Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Very nice build Chris!!! I mean who doesn't love a nice Ferrari!!!
Gregg Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Getting better! I actually starting using those CFL's from Home Depot, 100 watt daylight ones. There are a bit more, but I think it's worth it. A couple of cheap big box flood lamps, and that's what I use now for lighting quick stuff.
crispy Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 Thanks Gregg, will add more light later. Anyway, please bear with me. One more picture with the added Scuderia shields and re-touched headlight covers: Chris
Nick F40 Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Wow, much better! Well done and your getting the photography down. Love the blue
