Are Dodge pick up bed floors painted black, stained wood, or all the body color?

What color are the metal stays- black or body color if the wood is natural?

circa 70's

Hi GREG,

Yes this is correct, I checked my '72 Dodge pick up brochure and all beds are painted the same solid body color all the way.

Wood floors were used probably due to the durability, ease of access of material and what do you do with the wood workers who made the wood spoke wheels :)

Durability was one reason. The other reason was for ease of repair. If a board got damaged, you could easily remove the board and replace it. I don't know about Dodge, but GM offered a wood floor option on the Fleetside trucks all the way up to '87, and it was standard in all Stepside trucks until the Stepside bed was discontinued in '87.

pretty sure the Little Red Express and the Warlock trucks had stained wood floors with chrome strips

Edit,

and as far as I know,, the only dodge trucks with wood floors ,,were the stepside trucks
