mdlbldrmatt135 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Here's some pics from where I work, of loads leaving. http://s60.photobucket.com/user/mdlbldrmatt135/library/trucks
kilrathy10 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Those are some pretty awesome loads, Man....Colossal....
Casey Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Yeah, that's big. Looks like some type of power generating system? Is that dump trucking helping push?
mdlbldrmatt135 Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 We build compressors for the Oil & Gas industry. those are all packaged skids. Several of the heavier ones have to use pusher trucks to help negotiate the one 90 degree turn they need to to get out to the interstate. They use all 3 lanes on the one street and 4 lanes plus parking spaces on the other to make the turn.

That's a bit surprising, as I wouldn't think such a load could safely maintain the minimum speed, but I get back roads are not a better option. Is there anything under the bottom of the "box" at all, or is the load supported from the sides on the main trailer section?:
mdlbldrmatt135 Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 There's support under the load. Right from the trucking company: http://www.diamondheavyhaul.com/equipment.htm
kilrathy10 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Dude !!! That is an amazing piece of equipment....Colossal....
Lucas van H Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I could be mistaken, but has the company that you work for been on tv in an episode of some show about hauling heavy loads? I believe it was hosted by a big, bearded man.
Truck parts Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 That's one big rig !!!!!!!!!!! How many load's do you ship in a week?
Tesla Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Thanks for sharing this! That's some serious heavy hauling. Great modeling subjects
ewaskew Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 That is a real big load and a nice build project however the Load would be the easy part the money come's in with the tire set's and plastic. If I built one I would use Moebius Wheel and Tire set's may not match your photo but I think they would look good. God Bless
mdlbldrmatt135 Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 That's one big rig !!!!!!!!!!! How many load's do you ship in a week? That size... usually up to a couple dozen a year. Most of what we build is usually smaller (more usual "heavy haul" type trailers, and only 1/2 escort(s) not the 4+ we have with these monsters.
