I've been lurking around looking at all of these incredible builds. While I can't build anywhere near the level put forth here, I thought I would share this with you. I apologize for the crappy pics, they were taken with my phone camera. I also lack a proper setup for taking pics, so I apologize for that, as well. Completely OOB. Just a simple build with my own personal touches. I hope you enjoy. Oh, all criticism is appreciated, good or bad. I wouldn't learn anything just getting atta boys and great job all the time, would I? 066_zps9e791968.jpg

I'll post some pics of the body later on. It's painted in Testors Icy Blue with two coats of Testors Wet Look Clear. It's been wet sanded and polished. Thanks for looking and happy modeling!

I'm particularly proud of this paint job. This is the first car body that I have been able to achieve such a good, even coat with no runs, not too heavy paint layers. I did have some mild orange peel, so I wet sanded it with a 4000 grit sanding pad. I then laid down the clear in two even coats. Then using Maguires plastic polish and a soft rag, polished out the orange peel and managed to get the paint to look like this. I even managed to grab the reflection of the paint can off the body.

I'll try to have some more for you this weekend. I'm only able to build on the weekends due to my work schedule , so it may be a couple of days. As always, thanks for looking and critiques are more than welcome.

I dug it out long enough to start sanding down the seam lines and I gave it a quick primer coat. I won't start on that one for a while. I find prepping the bodies for paint strangely soothing for some reason.

Yeah, I'm loving this kit! So easy to put together and everything fits so far. I have the new '13 Mustang and the '09 Challenger I want to get started on this year, as well.

I also want to finish my '99 Ford Lightning. Might be a busy year if I can actually work on them and finish something. I have been working on this one for over six months due to my hectic work schedule.

Looks very nice to me. I too like the prep and have a love hate relationship with paint. I just finished cleaning up an 09 Challenger, and making it my version of a new Cuda, and I have to say in all the test fitting it seems to be a very nice kit as well. Looking forward to seeing more.

As a rule, I don't like Camaros. BUT- this one is an exception. Looks really good to me and I'm digging the color. I have one suggestion- if you haven't given the struts/coilovers a black wash- it's hard to tell from the pictures- that would be a good thing, as it would add some dimension to the part; make it look like it's actually multiple pieces.

There was a wash , but it is really subtle. Most of it got wiped out. I'll go over it again and see how it looks. Thank you all for your feedback.

Toast, I really appreciate your comment! This is the first car body that the paint has come out so well.

Not a whole lot to show, but progress it is. I apologize for the cruddy lighting. I need to go to Lowes and get some better lamps.

Just a few shots of the interior mated to the chassis.

The wheels have been painted in Tamiya Gunmetal.I have also managed to finish up the underside. I must say, so far, this model fits together beautifully! I'm very impressed with the fit! And the level of detail is also very good.

A couple of pics of the underside.

And the front. I put a mild wash into all of the little crevices to kinda break up the clean look a little. I also used the Tamiya weathering set to give the transmission and oil pan a little grime.

I hope to have this one wrapped up by next week. That is, if I am able to work on it at all. Maybe I need to "accidentally" break my foot or leg!! Then I would get to sit at home and get paid for it! Just kidding...... ;) I don't really have too much to go on this one. I need to install the glass, get the mirrors painted, install the headlights and taillights along with the grill insert, and install the optional aerodynamic pieces to the body. After that, easy peasy lemon squeezy! Thanks for looking.
