Steve,

Part of the vent post was missing when I got it.

Once the glass is in where i have something to support it . I'll foil some thin sprue and glue it in .

Otherwise ,,,Yes there is a BUNCH of foil work to do on this thing. There's almost 2 +1/2 hours just on the side shown and its not complete. Needless to say , I am not looking forward to the other side . So I'm doing it in stages . I ' might ' have it completely foiled by the end of the week .

I usually wind up doing the same thing. I try to get one side wrapped up & then take a breather for a couple of days to do some interior work or something. It's just too much to do all at once! Steve

Well, the chrome showed up yesterday so this one is back to the ft of the line .

I got the bumpers and headlight detailed. and in for a test fit so I decided to take a snap shot while it was sunny outside this morning.

About the only thing left is BMF the windshield frame, polish the glass and make the final assy. Then a good waxing to make her shine .

I've tried to get a hardtop builder to go with this . But WOW these get pricey.

I'm begining to believe I got a smoken deal on this one .

Glad to see you're back in the saddle on this one Bill! looking really nice. I just had a '58 hardtop in my "watch list" on ebay this past week just to see what it would go for. A built kit that I believe wound up selling for around $175.00!! So, yeah, If you paid less than that, you did alright! :) I picked mine up in a little antique shop many years ago for $8.00. I think I'm glad I did! :P

I believe that you should of removed one of those side rectangles behind the front wheel ? ( The top one I think? )

Correct, But I decided to leave it as is...its survived all these years with nothing sanded , glued on or funky done to it so I decided to leave it as is .

Steve, I wanted that hardtop,,,, but it was over $100 the first day ot 2 .

I watched 2 convertibles sell in the past few weeks, 1 for $145 and the 2nd for $115

I am in this one postage and everything for less than $70

I am actually looking for a 58 Buick convertible ,,but they get expensive fast . About my limit on any builtup is $100 , preferably less than $75

I'm confident you'll find one Bill. As I said, if you're lucky enough to find an auction ending on a weekday, you're chances of getting a good deal increase pretty dramatically. I'm with you on the alteration thing. I know these old kits can have a few inaccuracies occasionally, but I don't fret. Doesn't bother me, & I'm the one I'm trying to make happy. B)

If you are looking for a specific kit, put an eBay search agent to work for you. I always have a couple of them going for different kits. I get the regular emails when something gets listed. Then I bid what I want to in my snipe program. It can take a few months to finally win the right one at the right place, but it's a sport unto itself.
