eborraga Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I just recently got back into building models after many years away. My how things have changed. I decided I would build a model of my father's 68 Roadrunner. I also decided I would trick it out as much as I could. I was shocked to find ditributors, wires, battery cables, and tons of other stuff that is readily available. So here's a few pictures i'm starting with. Thanks for looking.
microwheel Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Welcome back into the hobby Ernie, boy do I know what you mean. I've only been back into it myself for just over a year now. For me it was the sticker price of kits and aftermarket supplies. Just seems like everything about the hobby went through the roof price wise since I was last building many years ago. You pick a good one to get you feet wet with. Nice start on the engine.
10thumbs Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Hi Ernie, good you're back, and get them wires into the valve covers and move on....piece by piece. Step by step. One thing at a time. It seems you have the right outlook, things have changed, and get some of the new stuff and have fun learning all over again. Michael
mustang1989 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 ..............and he splashes the scene with a Hemi Roadrunner!. Gotta let tha big dog eat! Welcome back to modeling world Ernie!!
eborraga Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 I got a lot of parts painted today. Finished wiring the engine, with the help of some youtube video's. I also finished the interior. I'm going to attempt to run brake line's, radiator hoses, fuel lines, and battery cables. I'm still amazed how much has changed. I've spent a few hours looking around and on the net. Man, they make everything known to man now. All you need is money and time!
Mopar - D Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Ernie welcome back and as stated before you are starting with a great subject. Have you decided on what colors your going with? I see your not holding back on the details. Don't for get to give us some pictures of your progress. You will also find that this site has a lot of good support to help builders if you have any questions.
eborraga Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) It's going to be White exterior and red interior. The same as my father's 68. This is the only picture I have of it. Edited February 6, 2015 by eborraga
eborraga Posted February 6, 2015 Author Posted February 6, 2015 Interior finished. It's not the greatest, but not bad for the first time back. I wish i could steady my hands a little better.
