James2 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) From the Revell California Wheels kit... In the picture you can see the mold line high lighted with a pencil, but on top of the fender there is a ridge kind of like a 57. From the resources I have it appears it should not be like this. Seems it should be rounded but not peeked. Is that true? Sorry 56 Edited February 10, 2015 by James2
Mike Chernecki Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 The fender is correct, both 56 and 57 had the peak. The 55 had a rounded top.
Guest Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) The very top of the fender does have a faint peak to it. Edited February 10, 2015 by plowboy
Muncie Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 That mold line on the edge of the fender should go away - it s a smooth radius on that part of the fender. While you're there, soften up the peak on the top of the fender - it's a little too high and sharp. Leave a lttle of the peak on the top of the fender - it is not a uniform radius like the '55. Revell did a btter job on the 1956 Del Ray. On the 1:1, it is almost not noticable unless you look for it, It takes just a little sanding to make it look a lot better.
