mustang1989 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) Good ol' W bodies! Looks good Wayne! I've worked on alot of these things and can easily say that interior looks very realistic. You're right about 'em not being fast too! Just too heavy a car for a 3400 or even a 3800 V-6 although those 3800's were some tough motors. The least GM could have done would have been to put one of those low baller superchargers on them like they did with the late 90's Pontiac GTP's or heavy Buicks like the Ultras, Park Avenues or Rivieras!!! Agent G Posted February 14, 2015 Author Posted February 14, 2015 Thanks Stephen! Joe, both GM and Ford missed the boat with their police packages back then. The Crown Vic really, really needed the 5.4 L from the truck line. These Impalas, well I think they should never have been marketed as a police car. I miss the 9C1 Caprice badly. G
jefropas Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 My only pursuit in my old Impala was against a brand new, stolen, hemi-Magnum....it just was not pretty...it did jump a roadway and recover well though, probably because it was so heavy. IDK if a ol GM supercharger would've helped.... Jeff
Agent G Posted February 14, 2015 Author Posted February 14, 2015 Supercharger, extra squirrels, downhill with a tail wind LOL! I got lucky with the two pursuits I mentioned. One was against a carjacked Mercury Mountaineer. I had a brand new Impala and a head start on I 55 south bound. They passed the Anheuser Bush brewery complex and I got on them. The suspect driver screwed up by exiting the interstate. Piece of cake after that especially as my best friend was above me in the airship. The second was against a carjacked Nissan Altima. Biggest issue there was the driver kept trying to take a shot at me with a 30-30 rifle. I stayed back and to the right and just ran that lil Nissan into the ground. Ultimately one strategically placed bump to the LR fender did the trick. Really didn't hurt my car at all. G
