Mopar - D
That's a nice fit up on your glass and your Mustang will look good on it.
landman
Dan, look at the photo in post # 52 and you will see some stress applied to the vent window frame by the clamp. Well, it broke. Not only that, the retaining strip I had glued to the inside of the roof hadn't dried completely and the window stuck to it. I ripped it trying to remove it. So back to square one. At least I still have the pattern. That's a nice fit up on your glass and your Mustang will look good on it.
landman
Once the engine and cab support crossmembers were finalized I made a transmission support out of some channel. Also made some new hangers for the rad as it hangs quite a bit lower. I used some "Ontario license plate blue" I had mixed from a scan several years ago thinking "I have it, so might as well use it". The darn stuff doesn't seem to want to dry. It is still sticky after 4 days.Any ideas, suggestions? landman
These are the blues I have. I might go browse the shelves at the store to see if I can't find another shade. I prefer the one on the left. Threw a bit of primer at the frame. Edited January 12, 2021 by landman
Tesla
Somehow I missed this... You're doing a fine job! The N series Ford has always been a favorite of mine
landman
Added two more blues, Testor's 1110 & 1108, shot with my new airbrush. Tried to find a workable location for the hood hinges. Looks like tis is it. Made a second valve cover breather out of tubing & hex rod. There was only one with the engine. Wired a distributor , drilled the motor and inserted boots. landman
-Finished the spark plug wires on the engine. Added the first layer of belts and the oil filter. Added the exhaust manifolds. Before I go any further I want to add a couple of vacuum lines.-Cut a new windshield out of an acetate sheet. Made the patterns for the side and back glass. Glued the other hood hinge.-Started painting the frame. Once it is dry, I'll flip it over and paint the underside.-Still waiting for opinions and suggestions on which blue to use and what color to paint the wheels. landman
Had to test Photobucket. It no longer lets me just click on the Img. link, I have to highlight & copy. The photo above shows the notch I made to the front crossmember to clear the oil filter. Also modified the exhaust pipes to fit the 534. Shortened the rise on both, the run on one and made recesses in the ends to hook on to the manifolds. Almost ready to mount the engine. landman
I just had another idea. I was to shorten the longer exhaust pipe so it came out between the cab & body to install the kit's stacks. But the way they are, I could rotate one of them and have both exhaust come out the side à la Nascar. What do you guys think?
