thatz4u Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 Grille with turn signal bulbs..Tires with steelies..Body so far...
6ohMax Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Looks good man, did those polyglas tires come with the kit? I have some Cragar SS wheels for my 69 camaro I will be building 1/24..would like to get some different tires for it .
freakshow12 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Good start. Why an auto lite sticker on battery? That's Ford replacement parts. I would have went with black plug wires myself too as it looks pretty stock. Have you checked to make sure the shaker base will still fit? I know on mine and a few others there is no room for the wiring. Very little at best
thatz4u Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) thanks for the kind words.. 6ohMax- Tires are from the AMT parts pak Freakshow12- this was my idea of hot rod Cuda, yellow plug wires like Accel, the shaker base does fit, Autolite decal because I didn't have a Mopar decal. freakshow12 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Good work on getting the shaker base to fit. Did you try it with the hood? The base posts need to be trimmed too. I and a few others found this on ours
thatz4u Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 freakshow 12- I dry fitted it so everything fits, thanks
thatz4u Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Shaker hood & air grabber, & air filter. The idea for this build came from SAE, April,2014, in an article by Tim Boyd about building a detailed 70 Hemi Cuda. My build took a different fork in the road....
freakshow12 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 What did you use for wheel backs on the steelies? On mine I used wheel backs from the 72 cutlass that use the pins like this kit. Worked like a charm
Mikevango Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Looks cool. Can't wait to see it with the wheels on.
thatz4u Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 freakshow12-I used parts box wheels backs, I think they were from an AMT kit, the outside steelies were from the AMT 49 Merc, they fit like a glove.. thanks for the comments guys
thatz4u Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 it's done, look herehttp://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=99332
