I was browsing EBay and saw one with a spare on the back, but I think it was a rumble seat car........ Did the coupe ever have a continental kit? or was it just on the cars with a rumble seat? If it did, where can I find parts for one, Modelhaus?

It probably never happened all that much, putting a rear mounted spare tire on any '37 Ford body style, as that would have interfered seriously with access to the trunk. Ford offered, as near as I can determine, only one body style with a rumble seat, which was the '37 Ford Standard Roadster with the rumble seat option, and that had only a portion of the rear deck opening up for the rumble seat. I believe, however, that in this body style, the stock location for the spare tire was in a space just behind the "front" seat. As the rumble seat roadster appears to not have an opening trunk lid, per se', quite possibly there was an accessory "Continental Kit" spare tire setup, most likely afermarket. Art

I plan on going mild custom with this one, already have some artillery wheels found (my favorite wheel for this era car), and have been doing my homework on the kit......... One more quick question, is there a stock seat available for the '37 Coupe? Not crazy about the "sculpted" seat that is in this kit. Thanks again.........!
Casey Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 The 1/24 Monogram (now Revell) '36 Ford kit might be a good donor for both the bench seat and rear mounted spare tire.
