StevenGuthmiller Posted March 13, 2015 Author Posted March 13, 2015 Never apologize for showing your work, Steve, it's great stuff. The 1965-66 Chryslers are among my favorite cars. A junkyard near here had one for sale years ago. I wish I had had the money and a spot for it. I think it was a '66 300 in black with a white interior. Really neat car. The dog-dishes are an interesting touch. I might've gone with something like Astro wheels for that- those look good without looking cheesy. Charlie Larkin Thanks Charlie! I guess part of the decision to use dog dishes stems from my teenage years. When I was about seventeen & becoming interested in buying my first car, I came across a 1965 Newport in a small town about 15 miles from where I lived. It was in a little used car lot. A maroon 2 door hardtop with a beige interior in fantastic condition. I remember it having dog dish caps, which at the time I hated! The main reason I never considered buying it was the fact that it had a 3 on the tree! Didn't want to go there! Steve
Tonioseven Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I love the way the caps look on the car. I can easily inagine them being on a 1:1. This build is very nice and I like the "presence" it has. Very well done!!
om617 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Looks fantastic, out in the natural light it looks wider and lower,or maby it`s just my eyes. I like the dog-dish caps, full size muscle cruiser.
W-409 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Another excellent model from your bench, Steve! I like seeing these rare kits being built and you're doing fantastic job with every one of them. There is not much to say that hasn't been said already - An excellent looking Chrysler. But I have to wonder how many people who sprang for a top of the line Chrysler would have gone with the "el cheapo" dog dish hubcaps... I would! They look so good on most cars, this included. I've always been a huge fan of them.
StevenGuthmiller Posted March 15, 2015 Author Posted March 15, 2015 Thanks everyone! I personally have never been a huge fan of dog dish caps either. This was just one of those circumstances where the stars were aligned right and it popped into my head & I thought.......why not? Steve
