Here are the tires and wheels I'll be using (the wheels are original equipment; the tires are not)... The tire lettering is decals by Powerslide.

Looking good, wheels are very well done.

Wheels look very nice. Wish I had decals for mine.

You can buy them at Mike's Decals - http://www.mikesdecals.com/

By the way, I have assembled the body to the chassis, and although the "bigs" fit fine, they just look too big for this car - they rub the top of the fenders.

I had to put this project on hold - broke the driver's side A pillar during assembly. I had no success in repairing it, and I've got my replacement now. The body is painted - waiting for glass.

Here are some photos of the reworked areas of this car: engine (rebuilt), new connection to headers, new rear suspension. The underside is all metalizers. Engine color changed to GM Engine Blue. Transmission is Vallejo Silver hand-brushed after installation (very poor durability during handling).

So you're going for a modified, '70s or later look, then?

Huh? I'm building the kit as a '69... what made you think otherwise? Oh... I see... I used the word "reworked", but in this case it only means that while I'm in the process of painting and finishing a new body, I decided to make a new engine, to go with the chassis I had already finished. Does that sound more logical?

I thought you were going for a '70s look because of the new engine color, which dates to the mid to late '70s (I forget the exact year). A stock '69 Z would have had an engine painted Chevy Engine Red (red-orange).

OK - I see now; yes, the instructions did say Chevy Engine Red, and if you notice the early photos do show that it was that color. I never even thought that they might not be interchangeable.

Looks good. Half the time the instructions is wrong and you half to rely on research...

If I was that concerned about replicating prototypes - I just like what I like, whether it's accurate or not. After all, that's what "customizing" is all about! Right? B)
