Here I added some sheet styrene cut into short strips:
Then I added some half-round:
Then I was able to cover the rest of the hole with the side cover I scratched out of styrene sheet. It will be permanently attached after all painting is done.

I'm surprised at how well the directional swooped wheel spokes work on this build. I don't really like them usually, but they're absolutely perfect here.

I've just started my '53 Vette, won't be as in depth as yours, just a sleeper with dropped suspension and deep dish steels/baby moons, just the way I like it
Will use the 6 cylinder, maybe blown !

So I took the carburetors and I removed the float bowls to give them more of a throttle body look:
Then, I hacked the ends off of the bumpers I grabbed:
