slusher
Time been a factor Mike or interest. I have been dealing with some builders block. I have a 69 Super Bee I need off my bench..
mrmike
I know how you feel Carl! It is time for the Cougar to get off the bench, but the enamel paint takes sooo long to cure and I don't really want to touch it until it has had significant time to harden.. mrmike
Thanks Ben! I foiled and clearcoated the Cougar this morning. I applied the hood stripe decal and I will clearcoat the hood after the decal has had sufficient time to dry. More to come...
DumpyDan
Looks good, want to see this one done.
mrmike
So do I, Dan. This one has been sitting on the bench since mid August and I want it off the bench. The hard part is waiting for everything to dry enough so I can handle the model without fear of messing up the finish.
Chuck Most
Very nice! Reminds me I need to get with a guy I know, Kurt, who owns a nicely-done '69 Eliminator 'clone', so I can get some reference pics. He drives it almost every day in the summer. slusher
Mike I always let my enamel bodies sit 2 to 3 weeks. To me the heat of my hand and fingers would leave a print if not cured out and I hate stripping and repaint. Yours is really looking great.. mrmike
Thanks Chuck and Carl! I have finished my '69 Cougar 428 SCJ and it is posted in Under Glass. I would like to thank all those who have taken the time to view and to comment on my WIP.
sfhess
Standard Cougars did not have the clock on the passenger side of the dash. Only XR 7s and Eliminators had the clock there.
mrmike
sfhess, you are correct. But, to me this is a standard Cougar with a 428 CJ and even though AMT/ERTL botched this kit, that was the way I built it. A clock on the dash wasn't going to stop me from building that way. Thanks.
