green frog tape

Recommended Posts

I've never tried it; it's supposed to work as advertised with latex paints only. Upon a review of their website, it says test before use. If you've got some laying around, try it. If not, I wouldn't go out and buy a roll.

When I paint walls with latex paint, I use green Frog Tape and it works really well with no bleed-under. Model painting is quite different, though. My advice is to skip the green version of Frog Tape and get the "Delicate Surface" yellow version instead. It's virtually the same Kabuki rice-paper tape as Tamiya tape but a lot cheaper per square inch. It's available at Sherwin Williams stores.

It cuts very well in a vinyl cutter, too:

This was a little test I was doing of the tape's cutting & handling ability. I'm going to make a custom van with dragons and wizards on it some day :D

I need to get me a vinyl cutter. Would be so much cheaper to make my own masks.

I bought a roll of the green Frog Tape and decided it was garbage! I tossed the receipt and so I called the Frog people. They sent me a check for the purchase price. Never seen the yellow tape. I believe I'll stick with Tamiya tape for now.
