Billy Kingsley
Just finished this Revell (Monogram) 71 Hemi Cuda last night. What a great kit. Everything just fell toghter perfectly. Paint is Black Gold BlueBlood Red (the color that I bought to do the 2003 Kurt Busch car) with Black Gold Clear. Fully BMFd before the clear. Kit Billboard stripes, and it is all box stock except for the liscense plate decals which came from an AMT kit. I also drilled out the openings in the wheels, which was NOT fun, then painted them Tamiya Gloss Aluminum. It blows my Bel Air out of the water, no pun intended! I based it off this picture I was given on the Hobby Heaven board.... Some things are diffrent, but that is the picture I printed out and used as refrence. I chose the 1972 Utah plates for two reasons: One is that they fit nicely in the opening and were not vanity plates, and two is that I used the rear window vents. They were only available on vinyl top cars from the factory, but there was a set on the aftermarket of the time that was nearly identical to the factory stock option. Since my rear window was scratched, I had to use them. Plus, they look good I also used the book Hemi by Robert Genat for refrence.
