Luc Janssens
Seen this Revell Monogram 1 24 - 1985 Camaro Z-28 - Rvm4015. Remember this one being used by the CHP but in RS configuration, check out the book, Modern Police cars by Robert Genat, ISBN 0-87938-892-
disabled modeler
The county police here use to run Camaro RS for cars that were not stock....they found out they were worthless on the gravel roads but great on the pavement.
Agent G
Chevrolet produced the 9C1 (cop car) Camaro for many model years. The 9C1 package was placed on the RS retail car so in essence you had a Z28 in disguise. Same with the 9C1 Caprice Classic and the Impala SS. Kerbside is good enough, i dont do engine bays etc I used to see Iroc Zs over here, and the odd poor RS (one other week infact) The Magnum is a great kit... CJ1971
Might have to do with 1st... 2nd release? ??
niteowl7710
The two Magnums are two different releases, it was just reissued recently. Of course none of the police package Magnums were SRT-8s, so you'd need to create entirely new front and rear bumpers to match the regular Magnum items. jefropas
The only B4C Camaro's were 1991 and 1992 models in that body style. I'm sure you can find some department that may have had one or two normal cars over the years, but these were the only 2 years. I use the old AMT snaptite Z28 kit, which was also a promo car IIRC. The only thing you have to do is grind off the hood scoops, and make a new rear spoiler. HTH,.. Jeff
English Jules
thanks for the info, the same seller had both Magnums at the same time, but with diff pics, thats what threw me. I thought the car was a little earlier than 91, as i remember when a Vauxhall dealer IIRC had some to sell. (after seeing the revell 85 box, 86/87 is around the time i remember) I have found a AMT Heritage Ed. kit on ebay, no idea what the final price will go for. Only snaptite one i could find showed a really heavily modded car with crazy graphics. Price wise this is the going rate for the Revell Camaro, i cant find apart from one the AMT kit, but i have a feeling it will go much higher so out of my price range.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111038256486?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT If the uprated version only came in 91, thats a good few years after the orig car release I have read this i just came across.http://www.camarosource.ca/rare_specialty/b4c/ Edited August 16, 2014 by English Jules
jefropas
I knew I could find an exception....guess it was a test mule, was not a B4C, looks like your year kit too, maybe 85/86....www.sspmustang.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14703 Jeff Edited August 16, 2014 by jefropas

I always build kerbside, i never do engine bay detail unless i have many all round close up shops, so i can goto town and to it all, and the brakes, suspension etc.
English Jules
I have just won this kit, pretty cheap for over here. I guess the bumpers and a couple of other things are not correct for a cop car, so maybe some converting is needed. If not then its still a nice looking car :-)http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201148500124?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

That's been the "problem" with all of AMT's Camaros when it comes to converting them to Police models.
