magicmustang
Was so inspired watching "TooOld" 's thread on his scratch build of Dick Jesse's '66 GTO funny car that I decided to finish my "What If" phantom version of the same car. Lacking the talent or patience to do a complete scratch built version like "TooOld", I chose a simpler plan. What if Dick Jesse had studied Don Nicholson's 1966 Comet Cyclone funny car and gone the same route. A full Logghe chassis, engine set back into interior, a full fiberglass stock body, etc. Well, having an old MPC 4 screw 1967 GTO body, a rerelease of the 1969 GTO funny car with the correct Logghe chassis and a blown 421 Pontiac engine, I set to work on my conversion. I did scratch build a Dick Jesse style roll cage and added a set of billygooche decals. Paint is Testors Bright Red. Let me know what you think. cartpix
I like it too. It's like Funny Cars were, back then. Simple, basic, no nonsense, race cars. Great job on trasnslating that, in scale.
