Thought i would post a pic or two of the 442 project wagon. It is a 67 442 that is being made into
a 2dr Hardtop Station Wagon ( concept car of sorts, as one was never made ). I started with a Lindberg
442 kit, cut the back section of the roof and trunk out--grafted a roof from a 67 Chevelle doner car--and the rear floor and tailgate from a old El Camino I had..
Fought a lot with the roof but finally got it where I want it, had to totaly redo the rear gate design as well as the way it mounts..Hand made rear interior side panels--extensive alterations to the rear of the roof to allow the rear glass ( also hand made ) to close up into the roof.. The gate IS FUNCTIONAL ...
A total remake of the Bumper was next trying to keep it in with the funcitonality of the tailgate when the gate is in the open position..so the gate clears the bumper when down..Also frenched in the taillights, with close to orig shape. Have been on this project for a long time --redoing as nec, due to not liking certain changes when first made..Oh yea , have a rather large sun roof panel incorporated into roof as well..
Plan on useing the 66 442 Tri Power Engine, with all plumbing and adding AC Compressor. Have not decided yet,( as to weather or not,) to hinge the Hood.. Still a long way to go and it has definatly been realy trying my patience and skill in this size range..Hope I can get some pics up, will try now..
