  1. Your balance & proportion on this build are right on! kudos Dig laid back windshields on deuce roadsters.
  2. Not sure what material it is. Super glue seems to work pretty well with it. Properly roughed up with 80 grit to cut through the mold release residue, body filler & fiberglass resin both get a fierce bite to it. I've also used a 2 part epoxy putty that I get at the Ace hardware store with good success. I like it because it can be rough shaped & will hold shape until it kicks. It was particularly handy when doing the 5 to 3 window mod on my body. My body had some pin holes & thin spots...how about yours?
  3. The color of the material on the body you're using looks very much like the 5 window that I started my 3 window project with. Nice work!
  4. Nothing recent. Moved last weekend. Getting the house & shops set up now.
  5. Nice collection. Plenty there to keep you busy for quite a while.
  6. Hey mike, what's in the 1:8 cache?
  7. Hi Bob, thanks for checking on me. Everything's good. Getting ready to move. Triple the size of my guitar shop & 4 or 5 times more room for my model bench & other projects. Spending what free time I have practicing on tightening up my setup & execution skills on the mill.
  8. I'm kinda up against the learning curve on my mill work. So while new information gestates in my mind that will help the quality of my work, I've spent the morning developing templates for cross members & mounts for the front control arms. They fit the frame nicely & I've got them level, front to back.
  9. Ya, & it's the little things like that, when I don't...get it right, that really irk me!
  10. Thanks for stopping in, guys. I wanted an accentuated big n little effect with the tires. Need a little tweak on the body set now. Want the horizontal body line to match the angle of the dangle between the tires.
  11. Recently bought a mill, learning to cut my own. Opened up a lot of options.
  12. I looked for quite some time & finally settled on rubber rc tires for my coupe. 2.2 for the rear & 1.9 for the front. The quality is outstanding. Perfect minatures...even have the big tire smell.
  13. A friend of mine is deeply involved with both nitro & electric cars. He's turned me on to a bunch of random parts...an older OS max CZ engine, a drive unit, front & rear suspension bulkheads etc. I'm fabbing a chassis & cage for it...a sprint/drift kinda no body buggy. Looking for a good forum where I can participate & learn...any suggestions...wish this site had a rc section...I like it here.
  14. A year ago, this corner was full of guitar cases holding my collection. Been accumulating them for 20 yrs...kinda like bringing stray dogs home when I was a kid. I've sold a few, given a few away to close friends who had taken a shine to a particular piece & after some rearranging in the git shop, moved the rest of them there. Now, I've got 8' of new bench space.I knew earlier this summer that the corner wasn't going to cut it, space wise. Just took a while to accomplish the logistics necessary to arrive at this point. Room for the nitro project on one end... ...and the coupe on the other.
  15. I've always admired your work, Tim. Learned a lot watching your techniques. You & 2 or 3 others have been my main motivation to jump into the machine shop game & start putting a shop together....learn how it's done.
  16. I did metal & paint in a Ferrari dealership back in the early 90's. We had a new F-40 come in...one very serious automobile & beautifully built!! Boss threw a sunday champaign breakfast & private showing for all the employees. Did a startup on the engine...the gearhead in me just about fainted with delight!! He had it sold for about 80% profit before it was even delivered.
  17. It kinda has the right color for shots. Cutting oil is working well. Enjoying the process of doing. Working on tightening up the concentricity of the piece. Numbers for each of the jaws are stamped into the table. I'm reading the thickness of each of the 4 points & practicing at shifting the position of the piece on the table. I would like to see the tolerance at a couple of thousands max. That's the excitement in all this...learning how to read & manipulate the machine so that it gives me what I want, when I spin tie knobs.
  18. It's all round now & getting closer to spec. Cutting fluid & acid brush. I keep a film brushed on as I'm turning the table.
