  1. I wish the photos showed the paint color better. The dark color is plum metal flake. I'll try to get a better photo. And I surprised myself with the stance and feel of this one. I thought I lost a wheel. Glad I found it and was able to keep the wire wheels.
  2. Finished today. Need to put some Pledge or Future whatever on it. Then to under glass
  3. When did Ford stop using washer bags on the fenders? My 65 Thunderbird has that and a coolant reservoir btw the manifold and top radiator hose. No catch can though.
  4. I didn't realize there was no overflow in 71. So that is wrong. BUT, to make it look green, I used a green highlighter on the white plastic.
  5. The bomber seats are in the kit with skeleton door frames as well. Look up Tim Boyd's articles on this one. I need more of this kit for those seats. I can build the kit with the other finished interior. I have a stack of leftover frames from this and the 29 kit.
  6. I'm on day 9 of decals on this build. I put on a few a day and let them set up. This may be the most extensive set of decals I've ever done. Loving it. It is rekindling my interest in NASCAR builds. Still don't care about the sport that much, but love the cars. This will sit beside my Mustang GT4 build.
  7. Here's a few more of my hot rod builds. The 31 sedan is built on the 29 roadster kit. The flamed 34 and stock 32 are a diecasts. The blue flame 32 is a Testors diecast kit
  8. The only nits I found were some of the decals didn't have white backing. Battery, a couple other things underhood. So they would not show up when applied. Other than that, this may be the best kit I've ever built.
  9. I think there were only 2 interior options for 2021, the black and the Navy Pier, which is what I tried to replicate. I'm not a fan of black interiors. With that said, it is a model and you can do whatever makes you happy. That's what makes them fun.
  10. There is a pastel blue one with white grille and wheels locally that sorta gave me the idea. It's very retro and was on the dealer lot so I assume it was a factory choice. That might be the robin egg blue?
  11. I finally got one of these recently. I love these revell hot rod kits. This, the roaster, and the 32s. I could probably just build those for the rest of my days and be fine. This is mine. Box stock except wheels and tires. The wheels have been in my stash forever. Not sure where they came from. The tires are PPP? Might be part of 2 sets? I'm still thinking about putting some Nerf bars on the sides and front like an old modified. I have some from the recent modified kits. Now I need one of these to build as a shiny car...
  12. I started this before my youngest was born and he just turned 16. It has been painted for years and I have no idea where the original paint went so I had to be careful assembling AND finding all the parts and wheels. I found it all scattered in 3 different boxes. 3 kids used to build this one. The AMT 32 Phaeton for the phaeton body, windshield and frame, and top. The fenders and engine were from any of the Revell 32 Fords. I have a bunch of those. The frame was from the AMT phantom Vickie. I had to scratch the interior side panels and a filler behind the rear seat. Seats were from the Phantom Vickie as well. I need to work on fit of the hood a bit. It fit right till I put the radiator in. Paint is from a 1999 Yamaha Venture Royal Star. I had painted 2 helmets to match a bike for a friend. Paint was from Color Rite. That is some stinky stuff. I love the stance of this car. Glad I finally dug it out and finished it.
  13. Here's my build. I'm sure there will be a ton of these soon. I used Duplicolor wheel paint to get close to the pewter. Close enough for me and I didn't have to shell out more money for paint. I had this on hand. I went with blue interior to be different.
  14. My blue interior. Not perfect but works for me. I screwed up the back part. I'll get the other completion pics soon. ya gotta love that shifter decal.
  15. Thanks for the compliments. Clicking the Thanks thing doesn't work for me now.
  16. I've seen a sky blue one with white trim at the Ford lot locally. Not sure on the grabber blue though.
  17. Interestingly, I started an AMT 34 coupe probably about same time and put it in a box. I get it out occasionally. I also used an Arii wheel/tire set but different wheels. Same approach to the build. Except yours is complete and excellent! Mine is still in the box.
  18. Haven't seen any of the new broncos yet, so here's mine. In Grabber Blue to match my 71 build. This AMT kit is great! The only downside to me is the decals are thick and stiff.
  19. I meant to put that in my other mustang post. These are also some of the best decals ever as well as the plastic. They are ready quick, very thin, conform well. They will fold over easily as well. Bee on your best when you decal. And registration on mine is slightly off which makes a huge difference in scale.
  20. I found a listing of " the most original 71 Mustang in existence" or someone like that. Can't find it again now dang it. Mine is silver (pewter) with blue interior like the web page. I used duplicolor wheel paint that is close to pewter. This may be the best kit I've ever built. Be done in a few days.
  21. If you decant and airbrush, the engine colors can come out very nice. They also make good body paints. Definitely need primer though. BTW, There are 2 testors Ford engine blue colors. The one that is Ford/GM is a darker color, which could be correct for some applications. The other is Ford Engine Light Blue. I like to airbrush those as well. Some people have kit stashes, I have a pretty good paint stash from owning a hobby shop back in the 00s. So I use them
  22. I am amassing several leftovers from revell model As and have quite a few 32 parts as well. My question is is anyone making extra parts for these? I have at least 3 extra frames, as many interiors, one 29 body. I need suspensions and other parts. I can finish more of these. I don't want to buy a new kit really because that just means even more parts. I don't think I have enough front axles to cover these frames sufficiently. So wondering if there is a source for more parts. I'm a bit out of the loop of late, so I apologize and hope this hasn't been covered recently.
  23. I messed about with several ideas, but the Bronco is related in kit form and real form. The space from axle to rear of truck is correct so you have to figure up where to cut the Bronco body and how to fill it back in. But if I can do it, most anyone that owns a razor saw should be able to do it better. Changing from 4wd to 2wd was a bigger challenge, if not a harder part. But I used the dually kit there as well. The dually (bricknose generation) is pretty closely related to the 80-86 other than the interior is much nicer than the bullnose trucks.
