SpreadAxle Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 (edited) Next up on the bench is a truck that I started rebuilding 4 years ago. I found the remains of a K123 that I built in 1991, and with the K123 kit being re-released, an idea hit me. I needed a complete kit for a conversion cab I purchased so I could use it's frame. Taking the fresh cab from the kit, I used the broken frame and other remaining parts to create what you see here. Mods include shortening the frame to a 130" wheelbase, rear suspension from a White Freightliner SD kit, 2 hole wheels from AITM, shortening the kit fuel tanks, going with a single stack, downgrading the engine to a Cummins NH 250, plus a few other little things. The trailer is pretty much done, but I have to redo a couple of decals. They looked fine on the sheet, but were really brittle. I think the hard part is done, but let's see how things go. Thanks for looking. Edited May 25, 2015 by SpreadAxle
SpreadAxle Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 Not done but much closer. The engine is in, and the wheels and stacks are on. The frame is pretty much done. The cab is only sitting on the frame for a mockup.
SpreadAxle Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Not done yet but very close. I have a little touch up painting and some minor details left.
