19nova72 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Hello all. I need some help. I have the Willie Borsch funny car. I need to know what model paints match the original. I have a bunch of rattle cans but nothing matches. I also have an airbrush. I can mix my own if necessary. Thanks in advance, Rod.
Daddyfink Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 The color is an odd one. It's a light, almost mustard like, orange color. I know some used the same color as the Burger King Stock car that Nemechek drove. Don't forget the car also ran a 454 Chevy at first. But, at one point, the car was painted Gold and the engine was switched to the 392 from the Altered and the Chevy was gone.
RAT-T Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I THINK THE ORIGINAL COLOR WAS CALLED BUTTERSCOTCH PEARL, BUT A FEW POSTS I'VE SEEN THEY USED TESTORS GRABBER ORANGE
10thumbs Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Good pics Jesse. Even with the F/C his arm is hanging on.
Force Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 The arm was a dummy, but it was his trademark from the Fuel Altered era so he did it for fun. It's included in the Wildman FC kit.

19nova72 Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Hey Guys,Thanks for all the info. Do you know if Revell or Tamiya make a color that either matches or at least close?
gtx6970 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 (edited) I used a Rattle can tractor color from Tractor Supply I would have to find the can to ck the name or number on the can Edited August 17, 2015 by gtx6970
GoatGuy Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 I used the Testors Grabber Orange on my fictitious Wild Willie Olds FC, which I need to finish. I think the color is very close to what is seen in the Drag Racing magazine pic that someone already uploaded. Wish I could have seen him race.
Mr mopar Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Tamiya Camel yellow with a pearl top coat is the closest you can get!
