RandyEarle Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 (edited) They should make a 1966 Coronet 500 in 1/25 that would work with the Revell 1967 Coronet kit. Also, as we have the 1967 GTX, why not a decent 1966 Belvedere 2 door hardtop? I'd buy multiples of both. I know there are resin coupes, but no hardtops? I'd even settle for a 1967 Coronet 500 too. gtx6970 Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Agreed, Ive always wondered why some ingenious resin caster hasn't done conversions for both of these . I would LOVE to have a clean 1966 Satellite - resin or plastic. I mean come on, Richard Pettys car alone should be the driving force. IIts beyond my skills to patience level to make my own. I am aware MCW offers a 66 Plymouth , but its a sedan not a 2 door hardtop. And I don't know of any others
chriscarroll.ogre Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 MCW also offers a 66 Dodge 2dr post sedan. I intend to use those to create 1966 and 1967 Police Cars. Could you not use the parts (mainly front and rear ends) with the Revell kits to kitbash the cars you want?
RandyEarle Posted December 11, 2016 Author Posted December 11, 2016 Chris, take a good look at the '66 Coronet. The tailights and grille are funky.
gtx6970 Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Ive seen the MCW resin 66 Plymouth and Dodge in person. if thats all there is avail. I'll pass.
keyser Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 (edited) Chris, take a good look at the '66 Coronet. The tailights and grille are funky. OK, Randy, I thought you meant the 67 grille was on a 66. I'm Mopar ignorant enough I missed that there was a 67 in the pics above. Sorry. Still, Canada had some weird variations, as did MX and Brazil. The 440 below was a Coronet 440 with an optional Charger grille on a pretty base car, pic is from Bringatrailer.com. Looks Canadian, but they didn't gave the round emblem. Chargers had a round emblem, is this a trim level thing on a 66-67 Canadian Dodge?? Googlage helped with rest of grille, but badge odd. HA. Found something-Mexico market 66-67 Coronet with Charger grille on sedan Found a cool Brazilian Dart from 78 too Edited December 12, 2016 by keyser
mk11 Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Neither of those would have been sold here. I recall Plymouth dashes in some low-line Dodges or vice-versa, and some trim lines renamed, but that was about the limit. mike
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I sure would like to have a 66 Satellite/ Belvedere grill, tail lights, and trunk panel. I had two 66 Satellites and would like to convert the 67 GTX kit into a replica of one of the cars that I had.
Curt Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 I would be thrilled if someone did the '66 Satellite. It seems like a way that Revell could get some further sales from the GTX tooling without too much investment.
Keef Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Old post I know but, does anyone know of a resin or 3D printed 66 Coronet 2dr hardtop? A guy down the street from me has one and I want to build a model of it.
