Foxer Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 (edited) This is the first of five Porsche 924/944's I owned. The suspension is the first thing I look at when purchasing a car and these felt like they were designed just for me. They were so neutral they made everyone look like a race driver. This one was a mule for Callaway Turbos and it had a water cooler added that kept temps down. The exhaust manifold was cherry red when it was up to operating temperature! The problem was, it melted the spark plug wires that were next to the manifold and I had to get wires direct from Callaway. It just jumped when the turbo kicked in, around 3000 rpm. The interior had black seats with a red plaid fill, like a VW GTI. The dash was an olive drab green, the weirdest interior I'd even seen I believe it was a Monogram kit I built it from and it had correct wheels. I was just getting back into model building when I did this so it's not up to my current standards, one reason it was completed! I lost the gas cap and looks like a license plate and front reflectors could be added. Only a few old photos of the 1:1, this one with my daughter who learned to drive on my Porsche's. 64Comet404 Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Looks good, Mike. Checking on your other builds makes me want to have another go at building a model of my '84 944. I just need to remember where I stashed the 924 interior bits and the cookie-cutter rims.
