wisco8 Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Hi, hope you like the build so far. I'm not sure if things are right, so feel free to let me know about any improvements I might need. I'm waiting for the top decal to come in the mail because I destroyed the one I had. This is the first car model Ive built in a few years. I used scale finishes paints and Tamiya primer on this one, but I want to find out more about using a Urethane top coat. Best regards, Steve
Khils Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Nice build Steve! I personally will BEST remember "Swervin' Ervin" ....... 14 minutes ago, wisco8 said: hope you like the build ......in that color scheme! !!

Thank you Kevin. I really love NASCAR. I hate it when the cars crash and ruin those beautiful paint or wrap jobs. I just showed my brother the car and he said it looked nice, now it needs to cash into a wall!! Arrrrr
bbowser Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Nicely done! I saw this car (show version) in person at a local camera shop back in the day, I was taken with how small it was standing next to it.
MarkJ Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Great job. Cant help you with urethane clear but some kind of clear would be a good choice. Helps to keep the decals from peeling with age.
wisco8 Posted February 7, 2019 Author Posted February 7, 2019 Thank you everyone for the kind compliments. I think my roof decal will be coming today. I will take new pictures with a top coat and roof number applied to protect the decals. I know these types of cars at the era were using decals, but I want to protect the car and the decals. Best regards, Steve
Jim N Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 Great job! The AMT kits can be tough to get to look right.
