RDean58 Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 Picked this one up a few days ago from evil bay. This is how it looked when I got it. I've since gave it an alcohol bath and figured out some tires and wheels for it. This is going to be a blown street machine since I don't have a hood. Engine is from an AMT 69 Rivera kit. Rear tires are American Satco Mickey Thompsons, fronts are some AMT Goodyear GTs from something, while the Crager mags are from an AMT 65 Pontiac GP kit. Some cutting needed to be made to the frame for everything to fit. More later, thanks for looking and all comments are welcomed.
Cool Hand Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 Cant say ive seen a built up of this year Buick, interested to see the supercharger poking out of the engine bay.
Snake45 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 I wonder if a '66 Wildcat hood could be adapted to work? Or maybe a mash-up between a '64 Impala and '66 Wildcat hoods? Might not be right, but might be better than no hood at all.
RDean58 Posted December 27, 2019 Author Posted December 27, 2019 I'm looking at this with visions of aluminum panels in the engine compartment, and I am wondering if I really want to put a hood on it. Picture the body in purple.
DonW Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 It so needs a hood, in my humble opinion. But its not my build!

Picture the body in purple. I understand the vision and like the idea. In Australia a lot of our burn out cars dont have bonnets/hoods due to the super charger and the scoops. So jokingly, id suggest putting a funny car super charger and scoop on your engine and say you are building a car to compete in the Aussie burnout competitions. Just trying help out with a reason to not put a hood on. LOL! Edited December 28, 2019 by Cool Hand
espo Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 You might consider using the leading edge and a portion of the hood. You could use just enough of the top side of the hood to cover the radiator section and this could also hide the screw mountings as well.
RDean58 Posted December 31, 2019 Author Posted December 31, 2019 I am working on some aluminum sheeting to clean up the nose section of this, once I get done the screw mountings won't be seen.
