64SS350
I may be a ' Johnny come lately', but what was Revell thinking? I just noticed the obvious incorrect wheelbase and overall length of this kit. Is this a Yukon revamped or ??
Exotics_Builder
There was an Escalade (Yukon/Tahoe), Escalade ESV (Suburban) and EXT (Avalanche) The Revell, I believe, is a standard Escalade, not ESV. AMT did a version of the EXT
iamsuperdan
It's not the revamped AMT Tahoe kit, as it's the newer body. The old Tahoe kit is a GMT420, this one is the newer GMT820 body. Despite being curbside, is still nicely detailed. Full interior including the B, C, and D pillars. The rear hatch opens too. Another oddity for a North American brand. The box art is wrong though and shows an ESV, and the kit is actually the standard length kit. I actually like how this one builds up. 64SS350
I bought it because I like the length and was going to convert it to a Suburban, guess not now...without major surgery and two kits. Oh well, moving on...thanks for the info!!
iamsuperdan
I wonder...if you combine this kit with the AMT Escalade EXT kit, you could make the bigger ESV version.
mrmike
I bought the Escalade a couple of years ago and I was disappointed that the model didn't match the box art. The box art is what drew me into buying the kit. It was a re-issue of a previous kit with the ginormous wheels and tires and a different grille. I used a smaller wheel and tire, raised the suspension and added a dual exhaust system to it. I liked building the kit as much as I was disappointed with it. 64SS350
Same here, definitely disappointed it doesn't match the box. If I find another one cheap, I may do a surgical correction. That does look good though mrmike.
