I have been away from here for quite a long time. My journey into miniature painting and that entire world has engulfed my hobby time almost completely.

While I have enjoyed it thoroughly, I have missed my cars, bikes and all the ins and outs it takes to make something shiny.

So I broke out some 1/2 done and new kits and decided to paint something that didnt have a sword or a skimpy outfit on.

The 1/16 nostalgia funny car is a custom project I started 6 years ago. It is starting to take shape.

The Hawaiian funny car was started in 2015, finished last week.

The Matt Hays Thunderbord was started last week. The clear coat needs a buff, but the Testors magenta enamel was a dead ringer for the real thing.

The Iaconio car was started a decade ago at least. I should be able to button it up soon.

The Bud King is also as old. The tins were painted red and that was as far as I got. It now has a direction at least.

I'll post more as I get things done. It is good to be back building cars.

Nice looking projects Bob and welcome back.  I picked up the Matt & Debbie Hay's Pro Street Thunderbird about a month ago at a model car show.

It's good to have you back! Is the 1/16 Revell/s Hawaiian? If not, where did you get the front wheels? Looking at it, it has a lot of nice enhancements from the stock kit like the steering wheel and the mount for the starter.

It is the Hawaiian, good eyes there!

There arw a number of aftermarket goodies I am using. The photoetch steering wheel is an awesome piece. The starter bracket is the kit front piece with aluminum tube and wire in the center for strength. I have a custom painted body for it that ill add a pic for. Some resin fittings by a European company I forget the name of, a photoetched harness and some scratchbuilt items.

The Tru-flame on the hood was created making a mask that I stole from watching a guy do it on Youtube. I just scaled the mask down to the correct scale.

Custom decals by the late Ratnasty who was a member here. R.I.P. Chuck
