dh1908 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Has anyone heard anything from Alan?? I've been waiting for almost a year for the Amphicar and 73 GTO / Lemans resin kits he was working on.
Mr mopar Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) I just talk to Al two days ago got something off him and he put it in the mail Saturday . Edited October 28, 2014 by Mr mopar
kalbert Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I got a pair of tires from him last summer, he responded quick to my request and a few weeks later I had some nice tires in hand. Although those are just tires, I imagine if he was working on a couple new masters that could take years. Especially considering I think he makes parts as a hobby to his hobby.
jbwelda Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 oh I forgot about that Amphicar! Bring it! jb
VEGADETH Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Hi , would like to know about Ma's resin how are they to deal with and what is the quality like? Thanks. John.
crazyjim Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I've been buying items from Al for a few years now. Al is a wonderful person to deal with and his resin is just fantastic!
VEGADETH Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Thanks!! , crazyjim!!, would happen to know how to contact him? I see he has a Fotki site , but that's it.
crazyjim Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I have his cell number that I won't pass on. Al's email is cnaind@ptd.net
VEGADETH Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Has anybody been in contact with Al in the last while ?, placed an order awhile ago , sent an e - mail and phoned him , ,and nothing.
Lownslow Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Has anybody been in contact with Al in the last while ?, placed an order awhile ago , sent an e - mail and phoned him , ,and nothing. he travels a lot i believe, hes not out to rob you it takes time its worth the wait.
VEGADETH Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Hope that is the case , when I first started e - mailing him I would get quick reply's and now the order has been placed can't seem to get a hold of him , I don't mind waiting as long as I know he is corresponding back , you would think that in this day and age of ways to communicate this would not be a problem even if he is out and about. Thank you for your response Frank,, appreciate it. John.
jeffs396 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Alan's a great guy, he's just got too much on his plate. You'll get your goods, it'll take some time. Well worth the wait though!
VEGADETH Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Thanks Jeff , ,will give him the benefit of the doubt.
mikemodeler Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 John (vegadeth), I too placed an order with Alan and was worried about the long time to get the product and his spotty communication, but once Alan explained that his job involved travelling great distances and long hours, I completely understood. What little free time he has is usually spent getting caught up on orders. As others have said, once you get the product you will be glad you ordered from him as it is very impressive. As the old saying goes....Patience Grasshopper.
rsxse240 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Hope that is the case , when I first started e - mailing him I would get quick reply's and now the order has been placed can't seem to get a hold of him , I don't mind waiting as long as I know he is corresponding back , you would think that in this day and age of ways to communicate this would not be a problem even if he is out and about. Thank you for your response Frank,, appreciate it. John. I work as a mechanic for a living, when I take a vacation, I leave my tools at the shop. I am sure similar would be true if I were a resin caster. Now, if you've been waiting months, that may be a different story. Also, check your bank statements for a cleared payment. He may not have been paid for some reason or other.
Tonioseven Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Alan will not do you wrong. His products are well worth the wait.
Borgis Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 No doubt about that. It's just that sometimes the wait can be (very) long.
Len Geisler Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 As the others have mentioned, you have no worries with Al or his products. I know him personally, and deal with him for "work and play" and he does travel quite a bit for work. Be patient, you will not be disappointed with his products.....
RubiconGuy11 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) So I ordered some giant pullers from this guy back in January and I have never gotten them. Of course I have paid for them already. I have emailed him numerous times, he sent me two different emails, both times stating that he was "putting them in the mail the next day" guess what? No tires. So the guy has lied to me twice, and took my money. My advice, stay away from this guy. I'm going to file a complaint through PayPal to get my money back.....hopefully. freakshow12 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Ya, I'm pretty sure you are jumping the gun on this. He is a good guy with a busy career. This is a hobby and you WILL get your stuff. I'm sure others here will echo this but do what you have to do
jbwelda Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I think this is very strange; the only reason I might be upset is if he truly told you the check was in the mail so to speak, and > 1 time. generally and in all my dealings with him he has always come through and I don't recall any extensive waits. so aside from the possible lies, I would hold off doing anything as I think your stuff will arrive...eventually. that lying part would bug me too, though, and certainly further shorten my normally short fuse. jb
Ben Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I think I waited about six months for some tires I ordered but I was informed when I ordered that it might be that long so I was fine with the wait. I did get the tires and I'm very happy with them!
VEGADETH Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Well , I can relate to that , i ordered in Jan - 2015 as well , 8 weeks ago he called to say he was shipping my stuff after 2 weeks I called to say I still have not received my goods and was told he was going to send a replacement order ( he also said he already had the stuff made ) 6 weeks later and still nothing. I'm not sure how much time to give him is fair , but 6 months is a long time ,maybe he should only receive payment once the items have shipped? Next phone call will be to get a refund.
Borgis Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 If you think six months is a long time, try four years. That's how long I've been waiting for my order to be completed.
