mackinac359 Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 (pronounced "beem-bo") Inspired by photos sent to me by David Faust. More pics are on http://www.timstrucks.com and my Fotki site at http://public.fotki....t-drom-tractor/ Thanks for looking! Tim
BigBad Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Yet another great looking replica! I like the toast and sandwich graphics on the drom! I like the different metal finishes you use for the "shiny" parts. One tastefully done Pete...
Pete1980 Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Oh yeah i remember checkin out the first one some time ago. This one came out great!!!Front wheels looks great, what brand are all the wheels?
Chuck Most Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Big rig neophyte question- what the heck is a drom?
mackinac359 Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 Drom is short for "dromedary" as in the carrier mounted on a camel. Tim Big rig neophyte question- what the heck is a drom? The front and rear wheels are from Jamie at Mo'Luminum. The lift axle.. I'm not sure who I got those from. Guest Johnny Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 I know that company! Their step vans are always at the Mexican food stores in the area!
Danno Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 I know that company! Their step vans are always at the Mexican food stores in the area! Bimbo is the largest bakery in Mexico, one of the largest companies in Mexico, and has been busy buying up U.S. competitors for several years. (Emoticon indicating 'The dineros go south' here.)
Chuck Most Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Drom is short for "dromedary" as in the carrier mounted on a camel. Tim Thanks! Odd looking setup, but I like it.
The Modeling Hermit Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 This is a Bimbo that I do like. It's a beautiful build.
Danno Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Yeah, I forgot to post that I really like these builds of Tim's, too! I guess I just take for granted (which I shouldn't) that it goes without saying: 'Super nice build, as always, Tim!!' (Emoticon indicating 'Super nice build, as always, Tim!!' here.)

Paul B Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Very nice Tim. Stil see the bakery droms here. Mainly on Freightliner COEs. Now you need to finish it off with the trailer.
loghauler70 Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Looks great Tim. I see those trucks just about every time I haul around the Euegene Oregon area. I also see the Franz bakery 362 droms and truck and double trailers. just a little note for you. There is a gyppo log trucker around here that has one of the old Bimbo bakery 362s and he is hauling short logs with it. He said it makes a great short logger. just thought you wouyld be interested in that little sid note. Mark

Dr. Cranky Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Nice job. You are making me want to build one of these big rigs.
Kostas Parchas Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 How I missed this one??? Will you go for a trailer? I am sure not, but you should. Fantastic one. Kostas.
