MadKaw6 Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Finished my FHP Charger. It's built mostly box stock. The Lindberg kit doesn't come with the correct lightbar, so I modified the closest one by cutting down the lens and adding some detail. I modified the rear seat to look like the vinyl one that comes with the police package. The only other addition is an antenna on the trunk lid.
High octane Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Nice build Frank and it looks "spot on" from the one I seen in Florida last year.
MyBradKeselowski Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 That looks great, fantastic build. These police Chargers IMO look mean and not to be messed with...
martinfan5 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Very nice, what did you do cut the bottom part of the light bar, I have half a dozen of them that I want to do that too
MadKaw6 Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Very nice, what did you do cut the bottom part of the light bar, I have half a dozen of them that I want to do that too I sanded the bottom of the lens on a big piece of sandpaper on a flat wood surface until it looked right. It's not exactly what's on these FHP cars, but it looks close. I added some detail inside using .040 x .080 strips and .080 rod. Then painted it with Alclad. I also weathered my FHP car with pastel chalks. It doesn't show up well in the pictures.

Thanks, FHP lightbars are special made for them , and only for them, no other L/E agency can get it, from what I read
MadKaw6 Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 They are using a Code 3 Javelin lightbar. I'm not sure if they're exclusive to the FHP or not, but I'm pretty sure they were the first to have them. Thanks everybody for the compliments. Time to get started on my Mustang.
Harold Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 That's something you don't want to see in your rearview mirror . Nice execution (and I'm not talking about 'Old Sparky' ).
