Platerpants Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 (edited) Well Chardon Township never had a L Series truck nor can i find reference pictures that are useful online for my towns trucks, but my best friends dad works for the township road department so he can get some reference pictures of the current trucks. Heres the progress. Pretty Much a pin in the plow mount so i can remove it when i want and a painted frame... Yes my phone plus my great skills make for great pictures... NOT. The truck in the back of this picture is the one that goes down my street and takes out the mailbox every day that it snows. Edited January 19, 2014 by Platerpants
Foxer Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Will be interesting to watch. Don't scold your phone ,,, the first pic looks good and pretty sharp front to back. The second may be blurry, but it's just saying " pull back to the distance you took the 1st from."
kilrathy10 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Good start....Not so bad on the pics....You get the gist of it....Good luck with this one....
Trailking120 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Those are great pictures with the phone. Nice progress
Platerpants Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 The Skeleton hiding in the corner of my dresser highway. Finished the frame and wheels, plow frame is assembled with paint drying. Pictures of the plow frame later today.
Platerpants Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 Not really an update but dang my f350 is nearly as long as this thing. anyway the plow mount is painted. The plow will be removable from the mount there is a removable pin in the frame.
Platerpants Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 Slapped some red on it. Needs a second coat, working on the dump bed now still have more engine work to do.
mikemodeler Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Looking good, should be nice when you get it done!
Chris guthro Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Looking very good!! Love these old fords!!
mikemodeler Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 VCG resins sells some nice plow lights with realistic decals for the lenses, they would look perfect on the truck, similar to what is on the 1:1 truck.
Platerpants Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 thanks. i kinda had put this to the side for a while Because the reason i wrecked my truck is because the township neglected to salt the roads that night... afterwards they salted because the state highway patrol called and demanded the salt. but today i said time to continue the project. Put the seats in.
Platerpants Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 I had to take advantage of the snow we got last night, just hope it sticks around for underglass pictures, cuz what use is a plow without snow?
Trailking120 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Nice job and she is already moving snow.
tbill Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 that's looking really good! love the snow picture
Platerpants Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 Thanks guys, got the front bumper on and some lights. plow aint mounted yet, oh finally got the logo.
Platerpants Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 Todays goal get the mirrors figured out and assembled and finish up anything else that needs done to complete the body atleast, decal work later. Playing with the removable blalde, and next to my brother's ram plow.
highway Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 That's looking real good so far, and the plow on the Ram would make a great wing or belly plow!
Platerpants Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Thanks. The ram aint mine so that blade aint going on this.
highway Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Thanks. The ram aint mine so that blade aint going on this. Yeah, I seen you say it was your brother's, but that still doesn't mean you couldn't "borrow" it!
