  1. So are you saying that a few coats of future hid the thick black panel lines from the top pic, or was there something else done before the future was applied?
  2. I looked all over your car for the "not near as good as anyone elses", but I couldn't find it anywhere. Very nice job there.
  3. I have a suggestion..... send that bad boy over to me... I love it... My first car was a 68 skylark, albeit in 1991. But I miss that car so much. I always thought it looked just a little bit tougher and meaner than the chevelle and 442, etc of the same years. Mine was the same color as your model, so that color has a soft spot in my heart. That canary yellow (or whatever they called it) always looks good on those cars also.
  4. Looks nice. I just have a question/comment. That black stripe is actually the rubber molding, correct? If it were to be painted a flat or satin black instead of the gloss black, it would have a more rubbery look and I think it would help the red stripe stand out a bit more too... just a thought.
  5. That's cool
  6. I like it
  7. Looking at those wheels again, they are really nice. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to get them "printed"? Do you have your own printer? and how much time did you invest in the design? (ie. proper dimensions etc..) Sorry for the overload of questions..
  8. Umm... I'm not sure what's going on here. But as far as the build goes, it looks like a very cool idea you have going here. I look forward to seeing this one progress. My 9yr old son loves Mustangs.
  9. I'm sure that most everyone on here would be happy with these "flaws" that you speak of. Looks very sharp!!!!!!!
  10. That was the first model I ever built when I was a kid.. I have no idea where it went to. Wish I still had it.. I'll be watching this one for sure.
  11. Mind=blown... Can we just go ahead and make an Ira section?
  12. You tube..... that explains it... I was looking at this while at work, and for some reason the proxy server I use to "surf" at work has recently blocked access to youtube, espn, imdb,etc... Any who.... that does look stunning! There's just something about pearl orange...
  13. Am I the only one that doesn't see any pics on this thread? I've loaded others and saw pics just fine.. Just not on this thread.. Anyways... from everyone's responses.. it "SOUNDS" like it looks really nice..
  14. Looks great... Did you think about maybe adding some transparent yellow to that led to "orange" it up a smidge? or maybe some of your gold foil around the inside of the jet where the red led reflects? just a thought.. kutgw. thanks-epi
  15. WOW!!!! you have some serious creativity. I don't know how you come up with the ideas, let alone being able to transform the idea into a physical model. Truly amazing.
  16. Wow.... All of these cars look absolutely amazing.... But I gotta give it to Gerald (GerN) for his backwards Boxster. That's ingenius.. thanks-epi
  17. Mike, I just realized I posted on this thread, yet I didn't say anything about your build. I am so terribly sorry for that. It was incredibly rude of me and I cannot tell you how terrible I feel about it. I love this car, your model looks great. Somewhere, Burt Reynolds is licking his chops over this one... nice job!!!
  18. Sorry, I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I did that with a Hot Wheels Camaro a few years back. Here's what I came up with.
  19. where are those rims from? I like them
  20. Well, mines not very cool but I I've had it since 1999, so it will have to do. I grew up a HUGE Star Wars fan (Original Trilogy) Then in 99 the first prequal came out, and it was the first time I remember any of the movies being referred to by their episode number. So in the order they were released, it was episode 4,5,6,1 - epi4561..
  21. I swear, this hobby is trying its best to tell me it doesn't want me around... But I'm too stubborn to listen. My bonnie project has been put on hold. As I've said before, I wanted to get this done for my dad in time for Christmas.. Well last weekend, out of the blue, one of the PE parts I ordered decided it had better things to do than to be put on this model, so it took a hike... It wouldn't have been such a big deal except that I had already modified the plastic part from the model to fit the piece. and it just happens to be one of the main dash trim pieces. So it is on hold for the time being until I get around to ordering another set of PE from modelcargarage. I remember you saying you needed some letters from this PE kit.. Check your messages... thanks-epi
  22. Wow... looking great!!! Like many others have said, depending on the price, I'd be interested on a couple sets..
  23. thanks guys... patience... yuck, I am in real trouble here. lol I actually think I figured my main problem. (besides patience)... trying to get such a low psi, I was either getting too low (0 psi) or too much (20 psi) Once I figured that out, I was left with trying to gauge whether or not I was putting on too much or not. Is it supposed to be a black chrome or should it be a true looking chrome? Otherwise, mine looks like a black chrome, is it safe to add more "light" coats to it or should I stop while I'm ahead? thanks-epi oops.... I need to subscribe, don't I?
  24. Why can't I get it to look ANYTHING like chrome. I know it needs the glossiest of black base coat, and needs to be sprayed on lightly at 12-15 lbs psi. So how come it always comes out looking either black (not enough) or metallic gray (too much). Is there a certain technique that I am missing here? I know this topic has been done to death, but I am running out of time for my Christmas deadline and I am getting frustrated. thanks-epi
