Thanks! Hopefully it will be under glass soon
-
After months of Modelers' Block, I was finally able to cut and fit the glass, and get the chassis attached. Here's a mock up. I hope to get this buttoned up this weekend. It's sitting a bit high, but I've tried everything I knew of to get it tighter. Comments welcome!

I like that color? What shade of green is that?

UPDATE ON THE FURY: I was able to get a bit more work done on the Fury. Cut the bench seat down and made buckets. Painted the interior a satin black. Chromed the rear seat insert. Scratchbuilt a console, and added a straight pin as a shifter. Thanks for looking!

Thanks, guys. The BMF was Chrome, but it was some I've had for a long time. It tore easily, even with a sharp blade

The foil is BMF and I really did not like the way it turned out. Too heavy and yes, torn places at times. But I keep working and practicing!

Thanks. Your picture is very helpful. The roof isn't attached yet. I'm thinking vinyl top, and I might as well get that done while it's off. But I'll take care when I attach it

I'm loving your style! Where did you get the wheels? And can you tell me how you did the roof? Thanks!

Awesome build! I love the old wagons. And yours is sweet! Thanks for sharing your story

Update on the Fury. I chopped up the back seat to add the recess in the middle. Scratchbuilt a console. Cut the original bench seat in half to make buckets I added a little color just to see what it would look like. Thoughts? Thanks for looking!

I use the Easy Off (don't use an off brand) and put my piece into a plastic shoebox that has a lid. Spray it outside, close the lid, and then you can bring it back in. Works for me! Happy modeling!

Great subject matter for some rust! And of course, some holes!

On another thread I started while working on a '68 Fury wagon, I admitted that I had really chopped up the original body from the police pursuit kit. So I started thinking about how to put the body back together. It hit me that the '67 GTX has the same roof line as a Fury Sport. So I cut the top off the two, I rescribed the door lines to make it a two door. I'll probably add bucket seats and a console I'll probably make the GSX into a convertible, but that's a different story. I'm not sure if I'll ever finish this one, but it's fine to give it a try Enjoy!

I had no idea there were 2 castings! This one is giving me fits. I'm still having fun with it, but I can I'm ready to be done with it.

I love this car! Great job! And who in their right mind would just trash something like this? Thanks for saving it!

While frustrated with some other builds, I changed gears and started work on the AMT '70 Galaxie police car. But I wanted to make it more like one we had back in the day. So, I found a green close to my memory of the Ford, made a vinyl top out of tape, and found some stock looking hubcaps from the parts box. BMF ended up a bit thick and too shiny, but you get the idea. I kept the interceptor engine, though, just for kicks. Enjoy!

Quick Update The wagon project really stalled when I had problems with the fit of the "glass". So I bit the bullet and used the front windshield from the kit. I also redid the roof rack and wired the battery. And, like so many of us, started working on other projects As for the original kit, I think I've found a solution on what to do with the roof that I cut apart. While looking through the forum I noticed a sweet '67 GTX that had the same roofline as a 2 door fury. So why not cut and swap?

Does anyone know what happened to American Satco? Or someone who carries white walls?

March Update: I've been fighting the fit of this resin kit for a while. I got a new hood, and now it seems I need new front glass. But I wanted to give you a few updated shots. Got the roof rack built. Found some incredible wheels in the parts box that are perfect! One day it will be under glass....

Great job so far! I really liked that you mixed your own flocking. Much more realistic in my opinion
-
Correct! All high performance engines (police) were also orange
-
I tried to do some research, and finding different colors for different engines, chose the color I wanted. Lol! I've been working on the roof rack, and hope to have it finished this week. -John
