  1. Tail lights look spot on to me. Did you build this kit from the beginning? Or was it already started?
  2. Guess it's a bit late to suggest chopping that top, huh? I've got a resin chopped top mated to the stepside, but don't like the way it sits in the frame. Yours is looking amazing!
  3. Did you use a Jada to upgrade the car as well? They've got a nice front bumper and grille, same scale
  4. Thanks Carl!
  5. It's been a while since I've updated. Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest in this, but that's ok - I think it's coming along nicely! Got it painted and the main body assembled. I tore one of the decals, so this could be Buddy Baker's, depending on which side you look at! LOL. Used a pin for the shifter. Not really happy about the cover, but it's a start. Looks too heavy to me. Comments are welcome!
  6. Can I ask where you found the spec sheet (post #1)?
  7. Got some work done on this Impala. Here's the story: I ordered this kit, knowing it did not have instructions or glass. I couldn't find any replacement glass, but did notice the '55 truck glass fit ok. So I chopped the top off, and started thinking about scratchbuilt convertible NASCAR. Progress so far:
  8. The spear wouldn't be too hard to replicate and BMF
  9. Thanks, Bruce!
  10. I'm starting to work on a '58 Impala to replicate Buck Baker's convertible. I've found very few reference pictures. Where can I get more information? Thanks.
  11. Steve: is this a scratch built hauler?
  12. First trade with vintagedragcrazy. Thanks, Vince!
  13. Bring on the pics!
  14. Awesome build! I love the '61. Keep up the good work!

    Thanks, all!
  16. I never noticed that!! Lol! Now I need to decide to leave it, or trim them up!
  17. Here's a shot with body and interior. I'm having a little trouble with the engine placement. Made the ride height a bit high. Back to the drawing board. REMEMBER WHEN Testors put fragrance in their glue? I guess they did that back in the day so kids would enjoy modeling. But of course, folks started sniffing it for a different experience. Anyway, when I pulled this old glue bomb apart I could still smell the "lemon".

Scott, the blue is Model Master's Lacquer Nassau Blue Mettalic, which is really a satin, and I decided not to clear coat it. The roof and interior side panels are ivory, and the spear and seat inserts are Model Master Light Sea Gray

I'm actually working on a rebuild of that one now. It's one I had originally done in the '70's
  20. NOW I remember why I didn't like this kit. The doors are killer! They are in, but they are tight. I don't like the gap in the panels, but unless I come up with something quick, i'm keeping it this way I ended wet sanding the glue off of the windshield, then polishing, buffing, polishing, haze removal. Much better than before!

Me, too. Ended up having to carefully clamp the chassis and body while the glue dried.

Andre: Cool color! I actually commented on that one. Did you ever finish it?
