I've got another '57 Nomad that has Torq Thursts. I really like the look, but just wanted to keep this one as stock as possible.

Thanks, all! I don't like the way the wheels turned out, and I could change them if I really wanted to. The antenna is guitar string, which looks better than the chrome part they had. I also did gold chrome foil on the emblems.

I really don't like the wheels, either. And there's no way to paint the trim rings easily.

Here's my finished '57 Bel Air. This is the Pro Shop kit with the PE parts. They were very nicely done.

I'm close enough to done to move it over to Under Glass. The Photo-etched parts were great on this kit.

Quick update. I got the hoses installed. This kit comes with some PE pieces. I really like the detail it adds to the grille.

You're right, the motor mounts were a bear. I didn't pin them, but that would have been a good idea.

While the kit feels good and solid, my first issue was with the ride height. I just couldn't get the frame to snuggle in where it is supposed to in front. With glue and clamps I finally got it down.

I'd be interested in knowing who has built the AMT '57 Chevy Pro Shop kit. What started out as a great kit now has fitment issues.

I'm on the last stages of putting together AMT's Pro Shop '57 Chevy, but I can't get the front nose to come down all the way. I've tried everything. I don't see where it is binding, and everything looks "right" except the nose. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

"I can look back and remember each experience with these models but I can't remember what I did yesterday." I'm with you on that! Great memories

Thank you all. If you can find this kit, and like GTOs, it would be worth your while. I was pleasantly surprised!

Thanks so much! You are right, espo, one of the options is to make it into a hardtop, but since most of mine are hardtops, I thought a coupe would be a bit different

It's been a long time since I've posted anything, but the other day I pulled from my stash Revell's 1964 GTO. This kit is dated 1998, and I really didn't have a lot of interest in it. But I was pleasantly surprised at how well it went together and how solid it feels! I'm not the best builder, but I really like the way it turned out. I guess one good thing about CoronaVirus is that it got me thinking about old kits. I hope you are all staying well and enjoying some extra building time.

Those are awesome! I've built everything from early 50's up to 1968, then '70, '71, '74, and '76. Glad to see the others exist!

Just finished a great trade with Khils (aka Kevin Hilsabeck). Awesome guy!

I still have the original one I built back in the day. Slapped together, no paint. I sure hope I would do a better job now! ?

I LOVE these old Johan kits. Wish they were still around

Beautiful job! The paint looks flawless!

That's looking good! Is that the 1/24th scale? Seems to be slightly larger than the other ones, but I love that era of car. Keep up the good work! John

Wow! Beautiful job!!

They are such a great couple, and it was a sad day when they said it was time to close. They have done an outstanding job over the years, and I wish them the very best.
