Scale I Build

  1. I decided to get some better pictures of this (with my iPhone!) to share. This build has held up pretty well considering I built it in 1995! Painted Testors' sky blue with a clear coat. All enamels I believe. I had not heard of Tamiya paint, and just did discover BMF, what a time capsule! Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed.
  2. After 17 years, this one finally got dragged over the finish line today. Painted Auto touch up Ultra Marine blue with Kens fuzzy fur carpet and white plastic seats. Thanks for looking.
  3. Hi all, Been a while since I posted one of my builds on here. This is the Revell Foose 65 Impala that I finished up a couple of months ago. I used a lot of engine and interior detail parts from Pro Tech Such as all wiring, plumbing, fittings, carb, air cleaner, oil breathers, oil filter, throttle linkage, distributor setup and seatbelt harness. Also a complete Resin and Aluminum Big Block 572 engine, full exhaust and custom racing seats from Sweet Scale detail. The wheels are parts box wheels that I took off of an old Di-cast a few years ago. There is a PE set form The Model Car Garage used also for the emblems and dash detail. Hope you all enjoy the pics.
  4. This truck was supposed to be a quick build, something to tow the trailer with my 68 Mustang Drag (Link) on it. I quickly purchased the Revell '65 Chevy Stepside Pickup 2 'n 1 to take the place of an AMT 1953 Ford Pickup Street Machine that I simply failed at when building. I was going to make the custom version of the truck straight out of the box and paint it with the same rattle can red as what I painted the trailer it is going to be towing. However if you look at the pictures you will soon discover that I got a bit carried away with some customizing of my own. I went through my parts box and managed to find the stuff to put a supercharger and such on top of the engine. As you notice I also found am air horn...so I put it in the extra space in the engine compartment. I then looked over and saw a piece of styrene laying on the desk and decided that a truck like this needed a fiberglass tonneau cover over the bed. I made a custom spoiler for the cover also. I could not leave the bed alone and had to put some wood and strips of styrene painted chrome. The mirrors are from the 68 Mustang (who needs mirrors on a drag car anyway??). (the truck is straight, the board it is on is not) The last thing I did to finish the custom job on this truck was to put a custom exhaust on the bottom. I used some solder to make the pipes and added to round styrene for the mufflers. Once again I stole something from the 68 Mustang, the exhaust tips finish it out, don't you think? Thanks for looking
  5. Hey guys. Figured I would show you what I'm Currently working on. It's a kit bash of a 1965 Chevy race car hauler. Have had the two kits for a while just sitting in the closet and one day I had the idea of combining the two together and some parts boxes to do it. Let me know what what you guys think and also open to ideas as well. kind of " wingin " it. Debating if I want to run one ton suspension and a dual rear tire axle on the back or not The two kits i'm using are Revell Monogram 1965 Chevy stepside kit # 85-7249 Amt/Ertl Model King Open Road Camper and Racers Wedge Model King #21453p Here's a few pictures of what I got done so far. Bare with the crappy camera, still trying to figure it out not to mention it was a cloudy day I went with a flat white for the ramp bed. the color is a gloss burgundy with a gloss white top cut the rear frame of the 65 pick up and re worked it but still have to add some frame rails so it will be a full frame plain jane interior. Flat white and some detail done
