  1. the lift blocks and tires are from the amt gmc off road pickup truck! unfortunately the p/u kit only had 4 tires no spare so the jeep has regular size spare not a full size mud tire
  2. I know I know I need some mud on my shiney jeeps!
  3. yes they need do need to reissue there are a few versions last most recent I think being "pink poison" those go for ridiculous amounts of cash on the bay as well
  4. lots and lots of wally world bags! wrap them all up individually and very carefully stack them in a large box (mine was very huge!!) worse case scenario you may end up having to re attach a couple wheels, or glueing some sideveiw mirrors back on, my builds faired very well going all the way from Mississippi 1,000 miles to north Carolina, the 2 years later the same thousand mile trip back down to Mississippi! layers of newspaper in between the layers of vehicles makes kind of like a makeshift newspaper and plastic buffer bag parking garage lol worked for me
  5. very nice!! not so nice installing windsheilds on the real 1:1's though lol I know its my occupation!
  6. awesome I had gotten a couple of those in japan but they got lost in shipment back to usa somewhere darn post service! those cars to me are the mustangs of japan! sleek hatchback form just an awesome lookin car! I take it you might be an initial d fan as well??
  7. basic box stock buildup I just added extra offroad lamps on front bumper added wires to battery and winch assy. and wired offroad lamps, guitar strings for fuel lines and line from pump to carb, guitar sring master cylander lines the lift kit blocks and tires are from the amt gmc k1500 offroad truck kit custom made black soft "half" doors for offroad mode and the regular doors for hardtop mode (winter and rain) I know it needs mud on it~~
  8. not much going on here! just use of some guitar string for fuel lines running from tank to block pump then to carb. used g. string for a carb stud post as well, used a Plymouth parts box firewall for extra detail and heater hose hookups and a wiper motor guitar strings for master cylander lines changed this aod jeep into a standard shift borrowed a jeep cj 5 speed drilled a hole in the floor for shifter to mate to manual tranny chrome rims are borrowed from cj kit as well clean box stock build with little extras may try to wire the motor sometime in the future
  9. Heres my "jeeps on the mountain" both models are primarily box stock...... I need to glue my lights back on the honcho's roll bar and the antenna whip Honcho mods: chrome cj 7 rims stock tires,,,,,,, added spare tire holder for bed, grafted a amt Plymouth duster firewall for more detail (original is flat with no detail) so wiper motor and master cylander added with guitar string brake lines, guitar string carb stud for air cleaner mount, mated a cj7 manual tranny to the jeep honcho block and drilled round hole in floor for shifter to mate with manual tranny (normally automatic) why an auto in a jeep? I fixed that wagon! cj mods: box stock! I only added wires to all offroad light and winch added chain to winch, all the offroad tires and lift blocks are from amt gmc offroad pickup!
  10. Its "Honcho" time! its Very close to box stock! I made a hole in the floor and mated a jeep cj manual tranny to the truck and mounted the shifter to the tranny thru the floor and I added a dodge dart firewall (the jeep firewall was way to plain! ) so I was able to add a wiper motor and master cylander the carb stud is guitar string the rims are the regular "chrome"rims from the "cj" kit they looked better than the stock spoke wheels thanks for looking! all comment welcome
  11. I wish it was a score! its my own collection lol I just don't have enuff time in the world to do everything I want to and believe me I've got ideas for EVERYTHING! lol
  12. as the title says its a "Baldwin motion" 55 chevy! the lil black chevy has the running gear from the amt 70.5 Baldwin motion Camaro the engine drivetrain and exhaust/ pipes looks sinister and its low to the ground bet if this was a real car it would be so fast it would make you sick! just screams bad azz! the black paint is so shiney after all these years still I had to turn the flash off on my camera! and you can still see the reflection of the carpet !! all comment welcome! thanks for looking yes I know bare metal foil! I agree it will make this thing for real
  13. needs some dusting and t.l.c. wish i had better body work skills when i built this sucker! i never properly fixed lower door jam rocker panel i hot glued it back together smoothed it out and painted the body i really need to add BMF will make the chezoom teal paint and decals POP! would like to wire the engine as well thanks for looking all comment welcome
  14. nice ! love it! nice touch on windows partway up too!
  15. I have been on the forum awile but I figured I would introduce myself ! My name is Danny and I have a real problem! I'm very addicted to styrene! and i'm very lonely here in south ms! trying to find some modeling buddies! I would even be happy with someone from the nearby Louisiana area or the sothern Alabama area! lookin for some fellow styrene friends here to get together with once in a moon!
  16. This huge box is chocked full of ziplock gallon bags with rebuldables lots of fords some mopars few gm's and the other box is all junkyard / spares parts! I think i'm in over my head!! big time! all these came out of the box of despair! need to duplicate myself so I can get these models on the move to completion!
  17. getting real close! more putty for lower bumper opening need to change the angles of the sides of opening..... hence more putty! and careful carving/ sanding but the essential front end is there a 85 or 86 gt mustang depending on whether you want 4bbl holley action, or the speed density fuel injection setup of 86' ! then to tackle the interior! anyone ever notice the backwards rear seat cushions on the 87-93 amt mpc mustang kits?? interesting thing is the fabric and cushions of the 87-93 seats/ interior actually resemble the 84-86 seats best except no "halo" headrest i'm going to correct the rear seat issue and right it, detail the 87 seats and put the red pipe stripe, use halo's off the 79-84 kits but trim out the mesh! as the 85 - 86 seat headrests had open halo's no mesh ( mite borrow halos from ford escort kits??) did that in real life on my 1:1 85 gt got halo headrests from a escort used them on my mustang seats!
  18. the other wipers are probly in the bottom of that big box of despair somewhere the one I posted with buildups piled high "cub foods"
  19. there are like 6 or so coastal walmarts down here in south ms, only one now carries model kits
  20. my wife is from Currituck n.c. closest big city is Elizabeth city..... otherwise kitty hawk was like a 20 minute drive man I miss livin on the outter banks, don't miss having to drive a long distance everywhere though !
  21. 1983 here theres not too many kits from the early era of the 80's but i'd definitely say the 83 ford mustang gt or their newly re-released convertible I also wouldn't mind doing any other "small" car of the era Chevrolet cavalier, dodge/ Plymouth fwd cars Shelby charger/datonas etc
  22. sort of resembles a thunderbird at a quick glance in a way??
  23. these are shots of my "gmp" 85 mustang I got out of storage today it will be great reference!! wish they would have made these bad boys in 1/24 scale..... but great reference nonetheless! I have 2 others as well a canyon red and oxford white "twister II" versions 1:18 scale of course
  24. Heres what I am doing with the leftovers from the 85-86 gt project I am working on I hate to hack up (especially older kits) and just leave them as parts, I was looking at the scraps and the 87-93' mpc gt front clip part left from removal of the amt body I saw the chrome gt headlamps and the wheels started turning....... I started zap a gap'in front end parts back together and what was left about the eggcrate 79' grille glued it front and center and glued on the lower foglight airdam to the lower bumper and wa-la! the front end really resembles this European "kamei " escort front end so i'm rolling with it! its going to be the bigger brother with a v-8 of the escort pictured going to be clean and mean lookin I will most likely fill in the most centermost (closest to grille) it will just be the compound headlight and the corner mark lights (theres already front park lamps in the mid section of bumper) all 79-86' mustangs (minus svo of course) already have a million projects (all mostly fox mustang) will do my best to keep updating post with new pics
