  1. ford escort xr-3 same escort a "turbo" version with custom hood/ front clip combo (otherwise same car different front clip and hood and decal sheet) ford escort III x1 "kamei" ( European customizing company??) should be good fun builds I made the mistake of trading away the other xr-3 version I had build up (this one will be here to stay)
  2. Did I mention this is going to take lot of patience and trials and tribulations?? its all about the love of my 1:1 ford I have given up for the time being...... Also taking putty donations at this time I will need ALOT!!! lol
  3. Rear /side view 2 types of taillamp assemblys....... right front side angle profile.....(decided to carve my mark lights instead of cut them from the other front end pc of the older stang) had to use some filler styrene where the headlight buckets came into place once all the zap a gap and orange testors is dry I can carve down the styrene filler and add putty to the crossbar at the top of the new front and and start to shape the lower bumper opening the hood sits about perfectly into place as soon as that styrene filler gets cut back that's my update thus far I am so psyched up about how this is going! the other pics had tape that really obscured the "big picture" with everything glued in place and mocked up its easier to see where i'm going...... to be continued! ya'll are going to need alooooot of popcorn on this one!
  4. I have been getting alloy of kits from e-bay! have got fortunate not to pay too much...... think the most I spent was 30$ shipped once for the (only) anniversary kit I have and one indy pace car I got one time was 35$ shipped but it was mint factory sealed! otherwise all the rest of the many many foxes I have I paid less than 30$ for shipped to the door
  5. the body is the 87-93 gt style with the 5.0 emblems on the body already the rub mouldings on this body very closely resemble those on the 1:1 85/86 gt much better than the 79-84 mpc bodys they have the older style rub strips on the doors and bumpers I had to carefully remove the cheesgrater molded in tail lamps,,,,,,, all those GT kits came with clear taillamp lenses and the svo clear lamps as well so I guess a good modeler knew how to remove the gt cheesegraters and paint up the clears to resemble "lx" lamps back in the day,,,,,,,?
  6. This is accomplished from at least 5 diff kits! *the bottom valence ( foglight facia opened up with no.11 blade) just needs marchal foglights now....... comes from the mpc svo mustang kits black or silver, **the side maker lights/ headlight buckets come from any mpc 79-81' foxbody mustang kit(snakebite, wild breed, cobra mustang etc)** the front facia rub trim and center section comes from any mpc/amt 87-93 ford mustang gt kits remove headlight mounting sections, and remove raised ford emblem 9will later on mark and dremel out a opening in the front bumper for 85/86 style........ the sail panels can be sourced from 2 places, any older revel turbo cobra mustang kit...... or carefully remove the louvres from any 79-84' foxbody amt/mpc kit with a no. 11 exacto blade(very difficult and dangerous) the rims are of course the faithful new revel kit the lx mustang kit I've been waiting for these wheels for a very long time! and they look good! so here I come 85/86 gt foxbody mustang now where the heck do I get a close match to ford color light regatta blue? i'm looking for more of those 10 hole wheels if anyone will not be using them......
  7. my bad it is a 67" where is my brain! oh wait my buildups have been stashed away in a giant cub foods box! yikes!
  8. need to add wires too! I will have to bmf
  9. my kits at my local hobby lobbys are on sale too just wish I had some cash to buy up a few!! they are good ones too not the junk wish ours were ten bucks tho! prices vary on the marked down kits I visit at least once per week and hit up the clearance section they always have some form of rattle spray on sale marked down!
  10. thank you Jeremy jon I will have to look into that with a 2 year old we go to the dreaded wally world a few times more often than I like
  11. that's a cost factor..... great idea but dispay cases in a Very large quanity would be pretty expensive that many display cases would take up quite a bit of space too
  12. man I could have used those tires ed lol its neat how they left the original parts in the kit as well so if you had spare rims and tires stock size you can build the trucks stock form
  13. I hate to do it as well like I said all builds used to be sepreate in their own original box until years later and many moves there are just too many! hey will all be rebuilt, traded, and or restored to their original glory or better!
  14. they used to be all in the "original boxes" until I was told to make space...... they all went into plastic bags that kept them fairly protected but pcs and wheels still fall off lol
  15. I really need to get into a house so I can build me a new mancave and some display cabinets/shelves for all my model buildups mine are getting so tore up from being "stored" that I will have to pretty much restore all of them to some degree! but I guess that's the fun of our hobby build, rebuild again and again
  16. Remember these guys? need to glue pcs back on, and continue my search for one of those "single" sole tractor style monster truck tires the thunderbolt only had 3 tires I digress though I built it anyways and nicknamed the chevy monster "tripod" I did a cool twist of my own and noched the radiator support and inverted the exhaust headers upsidedown and frontwards to come out the front of the hood like nostrils similar to some demo derby cars I've seen! cool effect wish they would re-issue cool stuff like this!
  17. not a jeep buff don't remember what type of jeep this is...... its a sweet kit though the model king version...... box stock buildup, may go back and wire up the v6 motor since the model is apart from storage in the buildup box.......
  18. wish I had a good picture of the good Doctor Olds! what ever happened to all the cool ads and muscle car flash of the 60's and early 70's the muscle car heyday flashy carachters, Bees, cyotes, roadrunners, flashy stripes and wild colors! one is the w30 version the 2nd is the hurst olds both equally bad to the bone! plan on freshening up these old buildups with ignition wires and some other minor detailing
  19. one photo would not upload..... too large ( Engine bay closeups) these clean box stock build mopars were done in my barraks room in atsugi japan man I loved building models while everyone else washed away their paychecks with other things less important.....
  20. I think I want to repaint this one again although the almond I think is a real good "sleeper" color cause this baby has a 250 ci. straight six under the hood (dunno if they ever put those in Camaros of these years??) but this baby is twin turbo'ed can we say boost?
  21. need to find the rear bumper to one of these guys ! (a big baggie of loose parts fallen off all buildups from all the moving) paint is messed up on the trunk of the burnt red r.r. need to figure out if I can get off whats on the paint without ruining it! I usually wrap my buildups in plastic bags from walmart then store in box carefully stacked I think the ink from a bag smeared/transferred onto the paint??
  22. Dug out my "box" of buildups...... this guy must be the real deal a "reaper" he stands the test of time! built this Plymouth over ten years ago it was my first attempt at detailing and wires is so grossly not done correct its insane! but I was a young lad then and accuracy didn't matter much lol the engine is actually I want to say a chevy 502 big block! but I put mopar valve cover on it and wired them! since when does gm have wires coming out the valve covers? all the wires go thru the firewall to a home made scratchbuilt spark box waaaaayyyy inaccurate but its cool looking lol unfortunately used too much glue on the glass the roof has bubbled some from the glue melting styrene but best of all I love the purple paint, the reaper, and the wheel / tire combo and sidepipes I think it all ties together well?? looks good to me anyways! has survived being dragged around the world and barraks room after room and display in my garage for a couple years still looks good to me! now only if I could find the trunk latch........
  23. I like cats they are very lazy supervisors, my cat shadow always watches me building! plays with my guitar strings that are used fr brake / fuel lines
  24. that's awesome use of legos! Red Green anyone he has a million uses for that old dodge van! "Remember, if the women don't find you Hansome, at least they will find you handy!"
  25. I love seeing how these mishmash partbox projects turn out!
