Crossmembers look good Brian, i may have to try that on mine. Plakit offers a heavy duty manual trans i think im gonna order a few of those to try out.....if not, mine will recieve a fuller ten speed!

Thats funny, i posted something on the aths forum on the 71 vs the 53 and someone pointed me to this very site and i was thrilled to see it, looks like a lot of good info! Im gonna have to look at the schematics on my desktop though, they arent very clear on my phone.

Thats what i do on my interior stuff, just wondered uf thays how u did yours too. It looks good! As far as flaws ine are riddled with flaws! I hope to see you enter, the moremore the merrier! I say youve got more than a fighting chance!

Chuck- thats what i was gonna do, sand off the detail and add my own, so i may go that route Aaron- the bore and stroke isnt that much different between the two, thats why i was curious. I know a little about detroits, but the physical sizes, idk. 500 pounds doesnt seem that big of a difference to me though. Thanks again for the help, imma try to find one local and get some measurements.

Is there a gm or other 1/25 gas engine out there that has a block simular to a Detroit 6v53? Or are tje 53 and 71 blocks the same physical size?I want a block to start modifying from, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Christopher, thanks for the info, i will definitely try this on my next mixer, your builds are what inspired me to build mine, your weathering is spot on, especially on the tires!

Brian- i thought about casting it, but the storage box at the bottom would pose a problem...i think, as well as the window mesh. But i would love to be able too. Gator- thanks, i used frying pan splash guards. I got them at walmart and just cut out the mesh as i need it.

Dave, i dont plan on copying that pattern, im just gonna make it like it is plate aluminum. My rack will just be loosly based on the 1:1 photo.

I agree with both of you guys on the resin ones, its kinda funny, i have one that i was gonna use, and it looked great intill.i painted it. Then it took on a whole new level of cheesiness, oh well, thanks for all the complements!

ok, thanks to the help of a few of you wonderful and persistent people, i got the posting problem fixed. heres a few pics of what im working on now, my headache rack. i was worried about dimensions, but i added a little more material here and there so she's looking decent now. these photos are before i added on, ill update some more recent pics later!
