  1. thanks for the info guys, I was looking at Ben's stuff last night and I cant wait to order some of his super singles and drives tires, they look awesome! has anyone used his gladhands?
  2. disregard the 2 hole, I forgot aitm had those!
  3. I'm glad I ran across this, I was about to buy one, but not now!
  4. Is there anyone out there that makes 24 inch wheels whether it be 2 holes or 10 hole alcoas? I know amt doesn't but im not that familiar with italeri or moebious.
  5. thanks for the info guys, and thanks for correcting me james, i forgot to ad the T to make my truck a tandem! i would love to buy a lift axle and heavy duty suspension all together, but moneys is tight with our first little one on the way, so i kinda have to use what i have. I may go with terry's suggestion and just cast the international's suspension, but before i do that, would Hendrickson suspension work or would that still be too light? anyways, i did a little mock up this afternoon and the v6 Detroit fit like a glove, minus having to cut some of the floorboard out, but i'll make a little doghouse and i think it will work just fine. and once again, any suggestion or thought is welcomed cuz 2 heads are better ya know?
  6. Thanks for posting guys, the engine in the pic is a v6, I'm probably gonna try a mock up with it first, as far as rear suspension, I'm not sure, I was gonna cast rhe suspension from the snow plow truck and use it but I'm not sure how accurate the would be, any suggestions?
  7. I have the recently released Ln 8000 kit that i bought just for the cab and frame, not necessarily for the race hauler portion. not sure if I will use the V6 that i already built up for another project or if i will build a v8.so here's what i came up with, let me know what you think!
  8. very convincing, we had a dump truck at work to blow a right front steer tire with 15 tons on and it flipped end over end down a hill, and believe me it didn't fare nearly as well as your truck! but the truck was rebuilt believe it or not, i wish i could upload the pics
  9. Robert i think you did a great job on the wheels, but have you checked modelhaus? the offer early 2 ton truck wheels, it may not be what you are looking for but i thought i'd throw it out there for ya!
  10. very nice indeed, wish it was packaged as a kit!
  11. I always use a set of helping hands. you have to be carefull, cuz eyeballin them like I do doesn't always work, but at least the helping hands hold everything still.
  12. very nice, love the engine weathering, did you use powders?
  13. do you know around abouts what year the twin turbo would have come out?
  14. Absolutely love it terry, are you selling the trans or the cabs yet?
  15. thanks a lot guys, I stumbled on some weathering powders by A.I.M. at a local hobby shop and it was the last pack they had and you could tell it was old! they had 40 bucks on it and I asked the guy up front if he would take any less and he said hows 20 sound, I couldn't get the money out fast enough. anyways this is my first attempt at mud, but I give all the credit to the powder, it was super easy to work with.
  16. Thanks guys! There is mud on the cab Kenny, but it's a very light spray, but I agree it could use a little more!
  17. Here's the finished Diamond Reo, still think I went overboard on the mud, but it looks ok. I started this model about three years ago, that's why theres no air or electrical lines. when I picked it back up in june, the frame of the truck and trailer was already painted with wheels and tires, as well as the trailer and cab. I didn't have the heart to tear it all apart to add the extras. as always all criticism welcomed!
  18. Nice job, love the colors! Just one suggestion, the exhaust plumbing is anything but perfect, I had to heat mine and tweak it some for a better fit. Keep up the good work
  19. Hi chuck, first of all great job on the weathering, and the tires look perfect for this truck. I know we've sort of talked about this whole cab headlights being related to the year model before because I built my c series with single headlights and labeled it a 59 because I had seen them labeled like that before. I have been following ur progress and I dug a little deeper to find out why I had seen these trucks both ways. while I didn't find a definite answer, I did find some old brochures that will either clear up, or further confuse everyone, but I thought i'd share them here since we're talkin about it.
  20. yes, I love the wheels, would love to know where you got them!
  21. I always liked cabover wreckers, definitely like the driver side stripping
  22. thanks man, I haven't started to weather the trailer yet, I know it wont be quite as harsh as the truck, still wondering what I could add that would look like bark and such
  23. thanks a lot guys, I was worried it was too much, still not done though
  24. white road boss is the way it started but I didn't care for the hood
