  1. So I didn't finish it in 2008... Decided to put it away yesterday evening, go out with some friends, and take a fresh start at it this morning. Glad I did. Revell 2005-6 Mustang GT, lowered, Tamiya Ferrari 360 Modena wheels and tires, drilled XS Tuning brakes, modified Revell F-150 Lightning supercharger and intake with a scratch-built throttle body plenum, kit throttle body and modified kit aricleaner. The body is Tamiya TS-16 Yellow over whtie primer, the interior is various shades of Tamiya black. The grey "primer" on the chassis is Tamiya AS-2 light grey with TS-16 yellow overspray. The kit comes with straight cut metal exhaust tips, but I wanted a slight pie cut, so I made them from polished aluminum tube. I also deleted the spoiler, and repalced the oversized trunk emblem with a '65 Mustang gas cap. Hopefully 2009 will be more productive than 2008 was...
  2. That turned out nice!!
  3. Way cool build!! Outlaw, there's no club in this area, I can count the builders I know of on one hand and have fingers left over...
  4. Shortly after the kit came out, I did a 3 day thrash build of a box stock Mustang for a friend. This time out, I'm building one my way. First thing was to modify the axle ends to fit a set of Tamiya Ferrari 360 Modena wheels and tires, and a set of XS Tuning brakes: Next up was filling the spoiler mounting holes in the deck lid, and fitting a thinned down '65 Mustang gas cap in place of the stock trunk emblem And to make sense of the huge rear tires, a F-150 Lightning supercharger was fitted to the kit's 4.6L, using the kit's throttle body, a tb plenum carved from laminated .040" sheet, and the kit filter box and tube cut apart and reshaped. Color is gonna be Tamiya TS-16 yellow with black interior and premium trim...
  5. Nice build!! Am I the only one wishing Italeri would start re-popping all those front engined Ferrari kits again? Especially the 250SWB and California Spyder...
  6. And some more pics:
  7. Here's mine: I started with a piece of 1/8" square tube, and a couple pieces of .020" sheet, along with a piece of scrap angle from the parts box and the chrome hitch ball from the F-350 kit. The hitch ball could be turned from a piece of rod stock. I fit this to the F-350, but just like 1:1, you can make it to fit any pickup frame.

    24 Karat

    Very cool build!!
  9. I am absolutely jealous over the 250SWB!!! That and the 250 Cali Spyder would be great to have re-popped...

    Outcast

    nifty engine choice!!
  11. That thing looks dirty, nasty, ratty and generally ready for the scrap heap... it's perfect!!
  12. Very cool - something that could only come from a west/central Floridian...

    Shelby Cobra

    Very cool - great build!
  14. Here's what I came up with: Lightning supercharger and intake manifold, with a new throttle body plenum carved from laminated sheet plastic.
  15. for some strange reason, I'm actually diggin' it... cool build!!
  16. After a bad car crash in '95, earning the moniker "MonoPed", I took up building balsa/tissue Guillow's kits (as I had done as a kid along with cars) as an additional form of occupational therapy to regain fine motor control of my right hand (nerve damage). Planes take up too much space, so I switched back to cars around '96-97, and have been building since.
  17. Sweet!! That build has just the right "look" to it! Wanna race?
  18. I like that!! Might just steal the idea of a chrome strip for my Merc kit
  19. Way cool!! Great color scheme, and I love the tag
  20. Very cool piece!! Wouldn't it be sweet if HAsegawa followed up the 250TR with one of these?? I know, but it doesn't hurt to dream a little
  21. You're gonna need one of the convertible kits for the front bumper, rear bumper and rocker skirts (everything below the body side mouldings), and you'll need what looks like a GT spoiler (AMT kit?). Never seen those wheels before...
  22. Nice lookin' Merc!! Nice touch on the headlight detail too!!
  23. Beautiful!! Perfect color and stance!
  24. Right now I'm getting rain from the outer bands again, it is a slooooow moving storm to say the least.
  25. Very cool build!! What's the part number for those wheels??
