  1. The GT-R is a neat car, but the McLaren and Lotus are higher up on my "want list", along with the Jag XK-8/XK-R and it's Aston Martin cousin...
  2. Ya know, that kit is still in the "build" pile, though I'm thinking it might be best built as a curbside. Still, it'll look cool next to the Fisher kit on the shelf
  3. Sweet!!! Where did the supercharger come from??
  4. I have the Testors/Heller kit, which is a short tail version that Andretti/Ickx drove at Daytona. The only part of that kit that comes close to interchanging with the Fisher resin kit is the windscreen...
  5. Very interesting piece! Keep the updates coming!!
  6. Nice work!! Wish Speed still had good WRC coverage...
  7. Fantastic work!! Is the Porsche an ex-Aurora kit? And what wheels did he use on the 250LM? The one thing I wish I had done to my 250LM, he did... get it in the weeds. Both are really nice builds!
  8. Had decent weather today, so I took full advantage of it and got some Italian Red on my long stalled Fisher resin Ferrari 512s Coda Lunga. Had to decant some of the paint and use the airbrush to spot in all the scoops, ducts and dips, then rattled canned the whole thing with Tamiya TS-08. For some reason, my camera will not reproduce these bright reds correctly, but I'm happy with how it looks in person :-) Brian
  9. The decals on mine absolutely would not conform to the curves of the car, no matter how much solvent I dumped on them. I ended up painting the stripe instead.
  10. It's been a few years since I built mine, but I remember it not quite living up to expectations. Don't get me wrong, it's a neat kit of a neat subject, and that is enough to get me past it's flaws. The frame rails have large slots molded in in them that need to be filled. Why they didn't put the slots on the other side of the rails is beyond me. I had to move the engine around quite a bit to get the headers to fit, clear the firewall and clear the hood. The tie rod also did not fit, so I left it off. The tires in my kit aren't molded all that well, but it looks decent on the shelf. I would put it alongside the Revell Germany Jag XK-SS and BMW 507 kits. Neat subjects, a little quirky to build, but worth it in the end.
  11. From the "better late than never" file: I finally got my 250TR kit today - woohoo!! If I had to pick anything to gripe on, it would be the black plastic, and lack of information on the included decals. That's it. The body looks really well done, the wheels are surprisingly nice, especially for a one-piece mold. There is nearly zero flash on the trees, the clear parts looks really nice, and the tires are nice. The wire wheels would have been an absolute knockout of they were done in three pieces like Fujimi did the Borranis in the 365 Daytona Spyder kit, but that's more of a "what if" than a gripe. The Miura kit was pretty decent, but Hasegawa has stepped it up a bit for this Ferrari. I can't wait to see what they have coming out next!!
  12. Fantastic work - in white primer it looks like it was molded that way!!
  13. True dat! I have the Ferrari 860 Monza body (thanx, Sparky!), and it is rough. having one here in front of me makes Mark D. Jones' build all the more amazing, and it's a sham(e) that they are using a pic of Mark's build in their ebay auctions. Still, as soon as my 250TR gets here, it'll be very tempting to see if the chassis will work under it :-)
  14. How does the Ford GT compare to the Polar Lights kit? And how much of the Shelby kit will easily interchange with the Revell Mustang GT?
  15. I made mine by cutting two Z-16 panels in half, gluing them together and covering it with BMF. I opened up the body to fit, and added a pair of angle brackets inside the quarter panels to locate it.
  16. Can't argue with that, and I'd add a Jaguar XK8/XKR (before they got the NASCAR Taurus nose) or it's AstonMartin sibling, Lotus Elise and the new Nissan GTR.
  17. Don't hold back, Mal! Tell us what ya really think...LOL!!
  18. Might as well dream big...
  19. There's some great subects out there for Hasegawa to go after in addition to those: 166 MM Barchetta, 250LM (would obsolete the Academy kit), Porsche 550 Spyder, COBRA DAYTONA COUPE(!!!), 289 Cobra roadster, Pantera...
  20. "And I must admit, driving it, it so choice. If you have the means, I highly recomend picking one up"
  21. Yeah, the audio is gettin annoying!
